    Thanks.

I just noticed that a lot of us drink not only water, but also other fluids...mostly full of sugar.

I'm making a conscious effort not to drink my calories, really. Difficult though. Anyone in the same boat?

I definately believe in drinking water, but I believe 1) you should be sipping it, not gulping it to achieve the required daily amount which is I believe 2 litres... and also, pending on your body as we are mostly made up of water so we do have to put it back in, but for some people it's not a good idea to drink that much, water retention, week bladders, etc....

In winter, I (when I remember), so I hope this helps, I drink "warm water" and sometimes with a squeeze of lemon in it.. It's better obviously than coffee, it's warm like coffee would be and you achieve your desire of drinking more water.

I drink water almost exclusively, other than maybe a beer every few evenings. No coffee, no Coke.. I probably do 3 liters a day easily.

I drink about 3 liters a day (110 - 120 oz). I've been slacking the last few weeks and I can tell. My lips are chapped and my skin feel dry. I got to crank it back up, I feel better when I drink more water, except having to pee every 5 seconds.

I just read an article saying that fruits and vegetables contain liquids useful for the body instead of drinking water..

I thought they disproved the 8 glasses a day being useful and found it potentially even harmful. Try googling it. I'm actually having electrolyte imbalances leading to low blood pressure because my digestive tract went a bit nuts and I felt thirsty all the time so I got up to drinking about 8 glasses a day. Previously I was only drinking about 1 bottled water (16.9fl oz) and a little bit of something else like soda at a restaurant if we went out to eat or small cup of fruit juice. So maybe 3-4 glasses of liquid. More than that makes me pee constantly. I'll be in the bathroom every 30mins until the extra is gone or every hour all day long if I sipped it. I'm not saying it isn't important to be hydrated but everyone's body is different and different diets or climates could lead to needing more water or that amount to actually be dangerous for your health. I think you should drink when you are thirsty or with salty foods and not have a certain amount as a goal. Your body will tell you when you need more if you pay attention. Mine was pretty quick about saying something was wrong even though it led to another problem.

I drink soda a couple times a year. A cup or two of unsweetened tea daily, occasionally a small glass of 100% fruit juice but for the most part, I drink water.
