Eat dried anchovies.
I have recently found out that I am a little lactos intolerant. What are some other ways to get calcium, other than suppliments?

You can drink an enriched Orange Juice that contains just as much calcium as milk. Also eat lots of grains and foods high in grains and oats. That should do for your calcium intake![]()

Broccoli, spinach, oranges, and salmon are all good sources.
thanks for the alternatives. i stopped taking calcium pills because i got scared when my friend told me that i could cause stone formation in the body. i dont have a proof that she is right but, her words really got me. thanks again.
Green leafy vegetables and greens supplements (like wheatgrass, chlorella, etc.).
I'm told the calcium uptake from such sources is much higher than from dairy anyway, plus they have lots of other health benefits.
Statistically the countries with the highest dairy consumption have the highest rates of calcium deficencies. Greens are the best source and do so much more for you. You also need magnesium to actually use the calcium.

Calcium, the most abundant mineral in the body, is found in some foods, added to others, available as a dietary supplement, and present in some medicines (such as antacids). Calcium is required for muscle contraction, blood vessel expansion and contraction, secretion of hormones and enzymes, and transmitting impulses throughout the nervous system . The body strives to maintain constant concentrations of calcium in blood, muscle, and intercellular fluids, though less than <1% of total body calcium is needed to support these functions.
