Default absent minded snacking

Hey everyone, its 8:30 pm and I'm in a totally snacking mood. Now I know I'm on my period which has something to do with the snacking. I feel like I snack all day though. Its not junk food by any means. Its what I call empty calories, unsatisfying foods. Like I had a bowl of cereal this morning for breakfast, for lunch I had a peanut butter sandwhich on wheat bread and a yogart, then this evening I had some left over spaghetti and then I had a small and I mean small bowl of cereal dry cause I wanted that crunchy but I didn't want chips or cookies or anything like that. Then just now I went in the kitchen and was about to go for a little fruit cup and litterally told myself no. Why is the food i'm eatting not fulFilling. I don't understand it. I eat like that most days. Its not to different. I might have a ham sandwhich with mustard no mayo. Dinner is pretty typical stuff nothing to fattening I don't guess. We don't eat hardly any fried foods any more. I don't know, I think part of it is the fact I'm bored. I'm one of those emtional eatters/snackers. That's why I try and keep good stuff around the house just for that reason but still I just I don't know. Its not a big problem. I tend to maintain my weight pretty good, sure I don't excersice as much as I should, but it just feels like i'm always snacking on something. I know before I go to bed I'll have a fruit cup usually mandrain oranges or peaches or i might have a trail mix bar or something. maybe i'm bored with my food maybe that's why i don't ever really feel full.

I try to find other things to snack on but your so limited in the stores. Even if something says low fat if you look at the sugar and carbs that's where all the fat goes. I tend to go by low carb stuff. oh well, just annoyed with myself at the moment.

Default drugs and junkfood

first, i love your screen name taintedangel, i feel like that's what i am alot of the time. i too am an emotional eater, problem is i eat or snack when i'm happy & when i'm depressed. unlike you though, i do eat junk food at these times. i'm 5'6" and usually stay a size 8 at 135-140lbs, this may sound like alot to some people out there but i had a boob job 19 yrs. ago (i'll be 37 this year) and i know how to dress & carry myself, so i actually end up looking very curvy & sexy, i'm not big below, so my boobs are what most notice. i don't know why i'm saying all this except that i guess i don't want people to think i'm fat- how pathetic! not as bad as what i will say in a moment though. i did the low carb thing very strictly for about 2 yrs. at first to lose a little weight, then to stay where i was. i was always 110lbs. from high school until i gained 60 pounds when i had my son. he's almost 13 now but since i began to get older i can't lose weight as easy but i can gain it very quickly since my cravings are for junk food and i'm a carb. addict. i got bored with the low carb. and when i came off, i gained weight quickly, so here goes the bad part. i started taking diet pills (and a higher dosage than is recommended) and i found that i can stay the same & maybe even lose weight and eat ANYTHING i want to. i have only eaten 1 meal a day- dinner- for years, but i find myself thinking as soon as i get up & all day long what i can cook or even better what my husband and i can order out and its always really bad like ALOT of mexican food, pasta,pizza, bbq you name it. i don't really ever eat sweets i guess that's good, but i know that what i'm doing to my body as far as taking alot of diet pills (which is basically speed) and eating so poorly is terrible. i snack throughout the day even though i don't eat a meal. that's usually junk also-a handful of chips or nuts a few bites of last nights dinner etc. and i do this all day long not just once. i'm know i'm not asking for advice, i guess because i know how bad this is and that one day i will have to stop and i need to develope better coping skills, but right now i'm not ready to stop. i hope i didn't waste anyone's time with this, i guess i just needed to vent, to tell someone what i was doing and somehow i thought putting it in writing might help.

I loved your very honest post obnurse! Don't worry I'm not going to give you advice (I can totally understand venting because I do it quite often). I just wanted to say that no one would think you are fat with your height and weight measurements (and boobs ). That's pretty little girl!! And let me know (when you're ready) if you need some help with your supplements. Diet pills don't have to make you feel like you are on speed. Have a good one!
