If it's only for a couple of days, you should be fine. Just be careful not to overdo it the following days to make up for it.
I think I am going to take two days to just really go a little "low-cal" and low carbs... I don't think this will have any adverse effects, but wanted to get thoughts. I plan to try to stay around 1000-1100 calories and was thinking of doing something like this:
Breakfast:
2 egg whites with spinach and spices
Lunch:
3 oz of lean meat
2 cups of steamed veggies
Snack:
Cantaloupe or some other melon (1 cup) --so I have *some carbs to get thru day*
Dinner:
3oz lean meat
2 cups of veggies (either salad or steamed veggies)
Again, I only plan to do this for 2, maybe three days but this seems healthy enough, yes? Then I will add back in my healthy, whole grains, more fruit, and light dairy in moderation...
Is this enough food??

Yeah I figured on the third day I'd do basically the same thing but maybe add some brown rice or quinoa or something... Probably just build back in another 250-300 calories. I want to see if that gets me past the plateau I've hit and then kind of "play" with my calorie levels to figure out what i need to do to be able to lose a steady 1-1.5 lbs a week.
Thanks SP!

I'm sure you already know this... but be sure you're drinking tons of water. As you're cutting out the food/calories, you're also reducing the moisture you absorb from that food, so more water will be needed so you're body can keep on keeping on!

Thanks KM! I drink a ridiculous amount of water right now between working out and it being hot outside, so I think I'll be good, but definitely will keep an eye on it![]()

Sometimes when you have been at the same calorie level for a period of time, your weightloss can slow or stop (pleateu'ing) ... its that constant search for homeostasis the body tries to obtain (not losing, not gaining)... so shaking it up I've heard works wonder. Sometimes I try Upping calories by 100-150... for a few days, then dropping them 100- 150 for a few days...(putting meback to the same calories I started at) then dropping another 150 a few days after that can get it rolling again... a lot of the women in some of the diet forums i've been to have suggested and said they do similiar when reaching plateaus in losing weight.
Also changing work out routine helps too. If its become too easy, switch it up and make it hard for a little while. Anything that tricks your body into action is good
I would not reccomend going below 1200 calories, the typical woman needs that a bare minimum unless under the supervision of a doctor that can keep an eye on your health.
Also you don't want to get your body accustomed to surviving on a miniscule amount of calories for too long, then when you go back to normal eating... your body doesn't need as much as it did before so it gains weight more rapidly.
I try to keep calorie fluctuations minimal 100-200 over or under my goal but not much more than that to keep things in balance. But a low calorie day or 2 here or there or a high calorie day or 2 there shouldn't result in anything changing long term balance.

Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.
Yeah I don't usually drop it that low, but I only plan to do it for about two days and then bump back up to close to where I had been. Also will be trying some new workouts next week and bumping up my weight training which should be good on the days I am eating less carbs to give me energy. I am also trying a new class at the gym next weekend. Hopefully by the end of the week at least I'll have some scale movement. Not expecting miracles, just a lb or so![]()
