Question Health-nuts, some advice please

I think I might have mentioned before, that I'm currently in a situation where I have no funds for food, so I rely solely on the family that I'm living with. Well. Things are to change. With some help from my sweetie I'm now able to invest in my own refrigerator, and I now have the funds to buy my own food...which will do a number of things. Most importantly it means, that I won't be living off the leftovers in the main fridge (which 80% of the time is potatoes pasta and rice, by the time I get home)

Which is also why I've put on about 15 lbs since moving out here.

But, now I'll be able to buy my own food, and eat as I wish, without the worry of something being eaten before I can get to it, and with out being picked at for when, how, and what I eat.

I'm a lover of lean meats (love my chicken) and I adore veggies and fruit. The current problem is not what to eat, but when to eat it. Since I have a somewhat backwards schedule.

I wake up at noon, go to work at quarter to 3pm, get home at 11pm, and go to bed between 3am and 4am. During my work hours I don't have time for anything remotely sit-down in terms of food.

So what I'm looking for is advice on when to eat what, so I can get started and get through my day, with a pick me up in the early evening, and something when I get home so it doesn't just sit in my tummy all night.

If any one has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Default Hey!

I thought I was the only one in a wierd living situation. So, you want to know what to eat...I would say, protein of some kind like protein shakes when you get home, you can buy a big tub of it and it doesn't need to be refridgerated and you can add fruits to your shakes like bananas or apples. Only the milk, water or juice would need to be refridgerated if you want your shake cold. You would not only drop weight but it wouldn't be putting rice or potatoes in your body late at night. You can also invest in fruit like oranges, apples, bananas, tangerines or clementines (my favorite), or you can get cans of tuna and eat them with mustard or anything for a topping like relish, I eat tuna ALL the time. You can also eat protein bars, I don't like those at all but it's an option. Or let me think here, is there a Trader Joes where you are? If so, look out for this product called Keri, it's cultured milk sort of thick like yogurt but drinkable. Every time I get one of those, it fill me up for HOURS and I can't understand why it's so filling but that would be a good alternative for you. Any kind of fresh vegetables or pretzels are good too, I love the pretzel rods. I'm really big on snacking as you can tell, Oh! you can get puffed rice and have that in a bowl with soy milk or regular milk or even apple juice is good and healthy. Let's see, what else ...how about oatmeal if you like that, personally, I can't stand oatmeal but it is so good for you. Hey, even look into dehydrated camping food, you might find something that you like.

Listen though, there are alot of ingredients that you want to stay away from as much as possible. Here are the ones I NEVER ingest: ANY Hydrogenated oils (Diabetes causer), Aspartame, this ingredient is in ALL diet sodas, candy, gum, you name it, and when this ingredient reaches a temperature of 87% it turns into formaldehyde. Your body runs at a temperature of 98.6%, think about it. And it will cause blindness, depression, and a whole lot more), look, when you are buying ANYTHING to eat, stick as close as you can to simple, natural ingredients like regular sugar, fructose and corn sugar (not high fructose corn syrup which causes weight gain) and sea salt (not sodium nitrate which causes cancer), etc. Stay away from anything "low-fat" or "no-fat", the ingredients in these foods like olestra (causes loose stoole and diaharrea) are hazardous and will eventually preserve you so much that you won't need to be embaumed when you die. These ingredients are all tweaked chemicals to make you "think" you are tasting salt and sugar but they are CHEMICALS, you might as well go and drink a nice big cup of toxic nuclear waste and get it over with, it's the same thing except when these ingredients are processed into food they kill you more slowly. Twisted, huh?

So, I hope this helps you.
