    Yes, you read that right! After a year long of saying 'NO' on green smoothies, I am in full surrender now.

    I bought a single - serve blender yesterday to use in making my smoothies. Today is going to be my Day 1 - lunch.

    I am going to use 1 ripe banana (frozen), 1 cup of spinach, and just enough organic soy milk to cover the ingredients for blending.

    I am a beginner on this diet, hence, I need more input, tips, and recipes from all of you what are in this type of diet. I've done some search online also, but I want some feedback from "real people" here, who are not advertising their products or green sprouters, water ionizer, among others.

    I want some feedback from "real people" here, who are not advertising their products or green sprouters, water ionizer, among others.
    But they are the ones that obviously hold the cure!!!!!! lol But really its all good to keep up with a smoothie like this, watch out for the ones that are going to say your nuts for not using their magic powder...you can choose your own 'magic powder' in the form of protein or some other vitamin to mix into the shake so that you can make sure all your vitamins and minerals are in good supply.

    I bet your powdered peanut butter would be fantastic to mix into a smoothie too! I have some recipes from my nutritionist I work with - I've tried them all, and they're all yummmmm. They don't call for spinach (some have cucumber or avacado), but you can easily throw in the spinach leaves and do your "green" smoothie

    Let me know if you want them - I can post them, PM them to you, and/or put them in the recipe forum!

    Please feel free to post them all here, advise, tips and Green Smoothie recipes alike.

    Thank you, KMonte! Secret, as I was reading your post and read "powder", Lana's powdered peanut butter came to mind (like KMonte did). I'd give that a try also.

    Here's a recipe I got from long lost Mes_T almost a year ago.

    - A frozen banana (frozen fruits are great because they give it that smoothie consistency that you might expect from an ice cream shake or something)
    - A handful of frozen strawberries
    - Couple of spoonfuls of flax seeds (which are very beneficial)
    - A handful of spinach leaves (this gives it that green color without actually making it taste like vegetables)
    - Half a cup or more of water

    Actually that makes more than one cup of smoothie, but whatever, it's nice to go for seconds.

    If you want it to be more filling, add some soy or regular milk instead of water.

    And play with the combinations. Try carrots, apples, lettuce... When you pass that section in the grocery store, just think about the creative ways you can combine certain things.

    In the past I've also added some maple syrup to make it extra sweet, but I find that it's usually not necessary.

    I have read that you are not supposed to consume the same veggies everyday. You must have more variety. I am a bit cautious about the bitter part of the greens, but we'll see. If I can stand and actually love consuming bittermelon, then, I could probably toughen up on those greens I haven't tried raw. (I just squirm a bit thinking though).

    I just posted the ones I have from the nutritionist at my job in the Recipes forum.. they don't all outright say to put spinach in them, but that's definitely an option!

    I forgot...I added 3 stalks of asparagus in the soy milk, banana and spinach smoothie I made today. I was surprised at how good it turned out. No bitterness, just the natural sweet flavor from both the organic unsweetened soy milk and frozen banana. This is going to be an addiction for me.

    I LOVE asparagus so I bet I would love that in a smoothie...YUM. Cucumbers are fantastic. I made one with cucumber, carrot and banana and just a bit of almond milk...sounds weird but I thought it was fantastic lol
