I'm glad it's going so well. I have thought of trying colon cleansing, if it keeps going this well for you I may try the same one you are using.
Day 12 - Still sticking with it. Things are going well. No negative effects from this at all so far, only good. I always had regular bm's before, I would've called myself "regular". But now, it's different, feels MUCH more productive when I do go, quicker, easier, more volume, no pressure. I'm running out of psyllium husks, so I'm cutting down to twice a day until my new order comes in because I don't want to run out.![]()

Dead animals don't equal fashion it equals cruelty
Day 21 - Very pleased with the regularity and "productivity" of my bm's. I feel lighter, no bloating, and my pants even feel a bit looser. Been battling a sinus infection, I think I have it conquered, but it has caused a lag in energy so it's hard to tell whether or not my energy has increased. Also I've had to decrease my dosage to two per day because I'm running out of husks and still haven't gotten in the new bag I ordered.
Sticking with it.![]()

Well done BD. I hope your cleanse continues to go well. Me and my BF are thinking of taking one as well. Is there a website you recommend for us to go to that will give us more info?
Sensitive - there's no real website, the only one I found is from a religious group site that discusses it. I can give you any information you need though on what I'm doing. I'd be glad to.
I ran out of husks a week ago.I had some on order, and ends up they're on backorder (go figure...). BUT, running out has been somewhat of a good thing for me because it has opened my eyes to just how effective the regimen was. I have quickly gone back to my normal bm routine, which before I started this I considered to be very regular. After being on the cleanse, I realize my regular wasn't near as good as I thought it was. My mom has experienced the same revelation and we are both very eager to get back on our daily regimen.

Wow, who knew getting whole psyllium husks would be such a challenge. Unfortunately, no one in my area sells them, so I had to order them. The first order went on backorder, so I waited patiently, and since they remained on backorder I cancelled and ordered from another company. I should have them within a day or so, but I am SO ready to get back on this cleanse. I was just to the point of really being able to notice a difference and ran out. I ordered some for my mom too and she texts me daily "MY BODY NEEDS HUSKS!!". Seems she's as eager as I am to get started back.
I still intend to keep you all posted.![]()

Okay, so I got my husks in yesterday finally. I started doing the regimen again last night, one dose because that's all I had time for by the time I received them. Today is my first full day back on. This morning after my first dose, I felt the familiar rumbling I had last time, and then had a more significant bm than I had since I ran out of husks. It's amazing how good I feel after I release all of that which needed to be released anyway but was just taking it's jolly time.
Since I've been off the regimen for about 3 weeks, I'm easing myself back into the routine by doing the 1 tsp husks + 1 tsp black strap + 8 ounces of water for today only. If that goes well, I'll move back to the 1 tblsp husks + 1 tsp black strap + 8 ounces of water. And I have enough husks this time to last at least 6 weeks so I'll be sure to preorder a resupply this time rather than allowing myself to run out.![]()
I'm waiting for at least one of you to join in on this with me.......so you can also share your results.![]()

7 days back on my regimen, and I'm already feeling noticeably thinner and more energetic. I'm still eating as I normally would (though my normal diet is very healthy, low toxins, low animal fats, etc). In other words, if you're eating garbage every day, this cleanse may "maintain" you but it will most likely not do you much good. Though I was intimidated when I first started this, thinking I wouldn't be able to keep up with the routine of mixing and drinking this 4 times a day, I actually find it quite easy.

I should clarify, the title of my thread can be deceiving. (It is certainly not intended to be...but sometimes I pick the wrong words!) When most people think of colon cleansing, they automatically think of the cleanses you have to go buy that basically act as a laxative.
I want to reiterate that is not what this is about. This "cleanse" is merely an increase in fiber. Psyllium Husks are water soluble and are often used as a source of dietary fiber. For most of us, 25-30 grams of fiber per day is considered a healthy range. However, most of us don't get that. (Though some do). Start counting your fiber grams per day and see how close you are coming to 25-30 grams.
After much reading on pubmed, I couldn't find anything that would indicate psyllium husks could create any sort of bowel dependency. If any of you folks have contradicting information please share it with me. I did however find that many studies are showing positive health benefits resulting from psyllium intake. Studies are showing that an increase in water soluble fiber can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease (lowers bad cholesterol etc).
The black strap molasses is very nutrient rich with potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, mangnese. It's consistency acts as a "carrier" which also aids in the digestion process.
I do want to mention that anyone taking prescription meds or other meds such as aspirin, should not take them within 3 hours of ingesting the husks as it can cause decreased absorption. And I want to reiterate that anyone who takes whole husks MUST mix them with water, followed by at least another 8 ounces of water. Lots of water is key.
In addition, my intent is not to take the husks is only short term, but after seeing it's effectiveness, I intend to add it into my diet especially during days I don't consume near enough fiber.
If anyone has anything to add regarding the usage of husks for cleansing and healthy digestion, please let me know.

Nice to see this is working so well for you. I happen to have a constipation issue... thanks to gluten intolerance. I've fixed the diet, but the gut is slow on the follow through. Trying to fix it, I grabbed some Psyllium husks from the local health store... and I can't take them!
I have an insanely sensitive gag reflex. The first time I took it, I managed to get most of it down... the second time a little less. Third attempt and I'm gagging the minute it crosses my lips. Spat the contents down the sink. I'm really upset with myself, but I can't control this at all. I feel queasy for quite a while after too.
So now what? I'm going to try adding it to food... muffins and such. I need to get this stuff in!! Take 1 x muffin with 300ml water.... :P
