Body builders eat protein supplements. I have heard that the quantity they are taking for thier muscles, is harmful for the kidneys. Is it true?

Almost anytime you over load the body with anything, it causes certain organs in your body to work over time or harder than is considered normal. Since the kidneys are key organs, it would make perfect sense. One of the great future concerns of all of the protein supplements and protein focused diets that body builders consume is the build up in their arteries.

You don't hear about it much, but there is sound scientific evidence that a significant increase in protein consumption, particularly protein shakes and drinks, over time can cause a build up of blockage in the arteries. Which can lead to all sorts of ugliness down the road.

    Spot on, well said.

I take protein supplements myself but I don't go overboard, nor do I follow a strict regime. I only ever take a little bit of it after a workout just to help the muscle rather than inject them....

There is no rush and definately no need to add unwarranted stress to the body.
Just be careful and sensible, he who goes slowly, goes long and goes far....
I am going to tell you what you don't want to hear!
Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't
