Rice is a good option but especially if it is brown as that is a wholegrain. White rice doesn't hold too many nutrients unlike its brown alternative which is packed full of them. If slimming chose brown rice. Good luck.

White rice is one of the simplest carbohydrates known. It quickly breaks down into sugar in your body and has little if any nutritional value.
It is believed by medical and research experts that the obesity problem in the U.S. comes from our over consumptions of simple carbohydrates (sugars) like rice, white bread, rolls, cookies, donuts, scones, muffins, basic pasta, etc.
Brown rice is "better" perhaps as it has not been processed the way white rice has. Have you considered stopping your consumption of rice altogether and replacing it with a grain that is far better, like Quinoa (pronounced Keen - wuh)?
Wholegrains are far better than grains that have been processed and there are many different qualities/types of whole grains.
Look up Quinoa on the internet, as an example, and I think you'll be amazed at the complete nutrition that such a little seed (grain) contains.
Certainly brown rice is a better option for health and well being. I avoid white rice like the plague!
