Im Atraina's boyfriend and im just typing this for her because she doesn't have internet at her grandmothers so she asked me to start this thread. she wants to know what she is doing wrong like she will go sometime forcing herself to not eat sweats. and then when she go's to eat a snack she only wants things with sugar in them. i told her if she wants something sweat she should eat fruit or eat a fiber bar before she go's to exercise. i want to be able to help her with this but im also not sure what's going on. and any advice would be of great help.

Don't judge by looks, it's whats on the inside that counts.....

Sweets are ok in moderation... just keep "not so bad" sweet things around like "sugar free icecream bars" or skinny cow ice creams or protein shakes. Also make sure she is eating enough protein and other nutrient rich foods because when your body has everything it needs you are less likely to crave high calorie junk food. When our bodies go to long without eating we crave more fatty foods as a biological reaction, just make sure to never get hungry (snack on veggies and lean proteins often) and remember even fruit can be bad when consumed in large quantities.

If she keeps avoiding sugar and at a certain point she is not able to control herself, this means that she must educate herself, and learn how to eat daily meals with the minimum sugar dose that her organism requires.

Since she feels the need of sugar, she must have it daily instead of completely avoiding it for a certain period of time, and then eating only what is sweet because she feels frustrated.

Nonsense, I've completely removed sugar from my diet for over a year at a time. If you remove all refined sugars from your diet (this MUST include all artificial sweeteners inc things like "diet" sodas) you will lose your taste for and desire for sugar within a week. About day 4 it gets difficult, kind of your body's effort to see if you are serious but after that you won't want it. That first week is easier if you also eliminate non refined sugars such as sweet fruits like strawberries. Once you've gotten past that first week or two you can reintroduce fruit and will find things like candy to be just too sweet and kind of sickening.

Our bodies do not need any more sugar than that found naturally in fruits.

Keep in mind that highly refined flour products (such as baked goods from bleached white flour) aren't much better in the digestive system than sugar and alcohol becomes sugar in the body.

Wow. I actually didn't know that, Wild. I am definitely going to try out a "sugar detox" now. :-)

And I was just going to add that the more you make something "forbidden", the more you'll want it. When your girlfriend starts craving things she "can't have", perhaps start suggesting things she *can have*. And if that doesn't work, make sure she knows that everything is fine in moderation, and that she shouldn't be too hard on herself.
