    Default Breakfast ideas?

I am trying to get back into healthy eating habits, as hardly eating at all is not having a good effect on my body. I will be starting a new job next week and will be up early to commute 40 mins to work.

What are some good, notorious, healthy breakfast ideas that are not timely?

Omlettes can be prepared the night before, a couple of eggs, some mushroom, tomato, mixed with a fork in a bowl and covered, ready to just put into a hot pan with sprayed oil on medium for a couple of minutes, turned over for a couple more minutes and placed on a piece of wholemeal toast.

Bananas if you like them, on a piece of whole meal toast smashed.

Frozen fruit, in a blender with milk as a drink.

    Porrige (1 min microwaved)

Take a piece of fruit with you as well to eat on the way....

I usually have some raw fruit like pineapple, bananas or blueberries and a multi-grain or spelt english muffin. I'l drink fruit juces like orange, apple, blueberry, pear or cranberry and usually mix two or three of them together.

Never skip or skimp on breakfast. Breakfast 'jump starts' your metabolism each day and your metabolism is your main calorie burner.

Try and get out of the mindset of 'three square' meals per day...this is terribly wrong. Try to eat five or six smaller 'meals' each day to maintain your energy and alertness while keeping your metabolism revved for calorie burning.

What is a meal you ask? A healthy fat, a complex carbohydrate, some protein and about as many fruits/veggies as you care to consume.

Ex: A couple of egg whites (only) cooked in a skillet with olive oil. Sprinkle with shredded mozarella cheese (40% less fat than most other cheeses), cover and allow it to melt on the egg whites. A piece of multi grain high fiber (read the label, should be at least 3 gms of fiber per slice) toast with a thin layer of peanut butter, a glass of oj with some pulp (more antioxidants than pulp free) and a banana.

Throughout the day... Yogurt, fruit (apple, banana, mango, citrus, etc. no grapes), whole grain crackers (read the label for grain and fiber content), sliced turkey, ham once in a while, sliced chicken breast, etc.

Thanks for all the inputs I love fruit and veggie juices, I think I might have to go and invest in a juicer!!

Seeker_Advise = Thanks for the advice, I was hospitalized because I was skipping breakfast and was plain out not eating much at all. Maybe a few pieces of fruit a day or a few crackers ect! I have been told that I MUST eat breakfast every morning! They would prefer I eat lunch but dinner I don't have to really worry about. I tend to feel ill eating dinner as it sits to heavy on my stomach.

I have started reading labels really well on foods now and leaning towards more raw ingredients, organics and home made foods. (Less preservatives and nasty things avoided that way) I tend to buy unbleached wholemeal flour breads and they are really filling. I even bought a natural fibre I can add to yogurts soups ect. I am ready a book at the moment called Changing habits, changing lives. I would recommend this book to everyone, such an eye opener!

Think I might head of to the grocer now and stock up for the week ahead

This is what I make for my wife and son when time is short.

Crack an egg into a bowl and scramble. Take a second bowl and spray it with Pam or any kind of cooking spray, then put the egg into the sprayed bowl and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Take out of microwave and flip over, add grated cheese of your liking and meat of any kind and microwave for 20-30 seconds. Put on toast or plain bread. Ketchup if desired. Takes less than 5 minutes to make. I have it down so well now that every 2 minutes I can pull an egg out of the microwave and have it served. You can put anything on it too, onions, bacon, ham, bologna, green onions, bell pepper or whatever you choose. Big bonus- no grease to deal with or skillet to clean. Not much of any mess. Let bowls soak in sink with soapy water all day and they clean easy after work. Big hit around our home.

eggs are always good for health... it have proteins.. have them raw if you can... i know it taste no good.. but for health its good...
having food early morning is always good.. some people think that having fruits after food is always good.. buts i think its waste eating them after food.. your stomach already have so much food in it to have energy.. the fruits will be of no use.... dont you think so?

When I was running late for school I sometimes stopped at McDonald's for breakfast. I would get either a big breakfast or 2 breakfast burritos and a cup of coffee. I could eat the burritos while driving or eat the big breakfast after I parked at school. I have to eat something for breakfast or my stomach starts growling so loud it's embarrassing.

I only wish they had rice with the big breakfast like they have back home.

Yikes... Let's not forget that eating raw eggs can be very DETRIMENTAL to one's health if proper precautions are not taken. Salmonella anyone?
