    Default Slimfast?

I've been hearing a lot more about Slimfast "re-inventing" itself. My grandmother used to drink the shakes and when I used to stay with her, I'd have one for breakfast. But I haven't had one in...at least a couple years.
I've been thinking about trying it and seeing if it actually works. But, I don't want to do the full plan or whatever it is, I just want something that is good for lunch and snacking and helps me see results. I want something healthy that feels me up and doesn't cost a whole lot. And it needs to work a little!

I've been looking for more snacks for at home so I don't eat my school lunch. I've been eating Kashi, Kellog's Special K, and Fiber One. But they keep the same flavors and rarely come up with new ones, and I'm not sure if I can handle it much longer.

So, I'm wondering, does anyone here use Slimfast? If you do, does it work; do you see results? Is it super expensive? Do I need to use the Plan to see results?

I have tried slimfast and the taste was just horrible. I now use Shakeology. It tastes so good. I am using it to replace one meal a day while doing my workouts. I've got energy to burn but not sure if it's the shake or the workouts or the combination of the two. It's a little pricey but if you figure how much it is per day, it's really not that bad. It's less than you would get one meal for that day.

Everything works if you are following a reduced calorie diet, including slimfast. Slimfast and or any shake or diet doesnt work or not work, its the person using keeping their calories down that will determain if they are successful with it or not. Shakes are a great way to have a reduced calorie and balanced meal replacement when you don't have time to count out the calories and nutritional value of a particular snack or meal. But if you have a shake for breakfast and a burger and fries for lunch, and don't lose weight... its not that slim fast isn't working... do you see what I mean? Its just a tool, and to me personally, a great tool... for a balanced low cal meal on the go. What you eat the rest of the time will determain your success.

Best results will come from seeing your doctor or nutritionist and finding out how many calories you should target to lose weight. Its different for everyone. Then creat a meal plan around those calories that is well balanced and if you like shakes and like the ease of them, then take that route for a meal and snack replacement... and as long as you stay at your target calories the rest of your meals you should find that those... or anything works.
Scars remind us of where we've been...they don't have to dictate where we're going.

I like Vanilla SlimFast. I get the cans of the powder that you need to add milk to. I keep it in the house as back-up breakfast food. I think I've tried one or two flavors of the snack bars a few years ago, and don't really remember being impressed. Whether it works comes down to whether you can keep all your portions in control. Any low calorie diet will do the trick if you can stick with it.

I used to use SlimFast as a quick meal so that I could get in some kind of breakfast on late mornings in college. I really enjoyed the taste, but I assume it is a personal thing. Sometimes I was so busy that I would be drinking one for breakfast and one for lunch - this always really upset my stomach and gave me bad gas. I finally decided that the artificial things in the shakes (especially fake sugar!!) was NOT worth putting in my body, no matter the time saved. It didn't ever "keep me fuller longer," or contribute significantly to my weight loss. But they sure were tasty!!

No wonder you guys would feel bloated and hungry after you drink the Slim-fast shake - it has low content of fiber, even lower of protein - less than 10g per serving, no pro-biotic, 40g of carbs!, and a whooping 35 gr of sugar - almost as much as a can of Coke!!

I wonder how people managed to lose weigh on that stuff at all!

SlimFast would have to reinvent itself completely to be worth your time. If you're looking for an easy, healthy, affordable meal replacement, I'd go with home-made smoothies. Do you have a blender? Just buy a big bag of frozen fruit next time you're at the grocery store (I generally prefer some kind of berry blend- they're usually in the frozen dessert isle under "toppings") and a bunch of bananas. Get some frozen or fresh spinach to make it really good for you, but be warned, you'll end up with an icky color. If you prefer more yogurt-y smoothies, get fat free plain yogurt. If you prefer creamier ones, get low-fat milk or almond milk. If you like fruitier smoothies, get juice. Blend it up and have one for lunch instead of your meal. My brother does this every Sunday and makes enough at once for the whole week and then portions it out. Seems to be pretty quick, cheap, and easy.
