This isn't for everyone, but yeah.
I wasn't ooverweight, but I lost alot of weight when I became a vegan.
Veganism diets have very little fatty foods available, but I wouldn't recomend it unless you had strong ethical beliefs to support it.
I was a vegetarian before that, and as I said I wasn't overweight, I weighed around 7-8 stone.
Don't stop eating altogether, my boyfriend said that doesn't help lose weight at all, because when you go to eat something, your body will automatically store everything. Another thing you could try is walking everywhere - I never take a bus and I've been told my legs are very muscley (they don't feel like it though, they're like jelly!) So it could also help with toning your muscles. I think you should also try eating more fruits and vegetables, maybe salads and things - I don't think there's much fat in those. umm... I'm not to good with weight-losing and healthy diets, I eat what my mum gives me (and she's really tiny, I'm worried about her not eating enough) Also, don't try to lose weight too quickly, I think it can leave skin to be all horrible and flabby (happened to me when I became vegan... there's not much and it's not that noticeable, but I can grab it and it's irritating

)
I can't remember if bread's bad for you... but I know that my mum keeps telling me to eat loads of it because it's got alot of energy? And cerials too - things like porridge and oaty snacks and stuff so you don't get worn out. If you plan on cutting things from your diet, maybe you should do it slowly, it can be very depressing for you and your body when you're addicted to sugars or caffiene or whatever it is you might be getting rid of.
Erm... I think that's everything I know... or what I think I know...
I think you're also supposed to drink lots of water too - especially if you plan on doing more excercise and things because you'll lose the water through sweat and get dehydrated and things... I hope I helped, I'm not too good with this kinda stuff.
Don't take everything I take into account, use it more as a guide. Also, maybe you should take multivitimins to make sure you're taking everything in that you need? I dunno if you should be drinking milk, I heard that we don't digest it properly, but rice milk is really nice, and it's sweet and it has been designed to go in tea and coffee too, so it can be heated. It might also be best if you prepare your own food - that way you know what's going into it.
I hope I helped in anyway... and I'm sorry if what I said was wrong. And don't be dissapointed with what you lose - any weight loss is good! And there's that little quote 'every little helps'. My boyfriends mum wanted to lose weight, she lost a pound and thought it was rubbish and I think she gave up - so don't give up!
And good luck
