Unhappy I'm thinking about a breast reduction but I'm scared...

Hello,
I'm 24 years old and wear about a 38 F. at least thats what I was told when I was measured. I have back problems due to the size and due to an accident my ex-husband got me into in 2003 where I went through the windsheild of a truck. I know that the doctors will tell insurance that it is a back problem and not cosmetic so I'm not worried about that, i'm just worried about the pain.
I have had a tummy tuck and I know that's one of the most painful surgeries you can have and I did well with it but my nipples are very sensitive. If they get to cold they get real hard and they are very painful. The thought of having them hurt more scares me. What should I expect and how can I handle it better if I do go through with it. would it be a good idea to go down to a D instead? Will it be to much pain? Please help...
Thanks and Blessed be.

I have two friends who are consitering a breast reduction. MY one friend went to all the consultation meeting but then decided that it wasnt for her. If you are scared do your research talk to women who have had it done. go in for the consultation and disguss everything that bothers you.
I have also heard that sometimes when a women gets a reduction they lose some of the sensitivity in there nipples so that actully wouldnt be the worst thing to happen.
My friend just didnt want the scar for the rest of her life and her back wasnt that bad any more.

You may want to also look into alternative treatments for your back pain.

Waiting to be approved by my primary insurance I am a 43 full G. 40 years of age and have back, arm, neck and mirgaine problems. I don't care about the pain at this point. Several people I know say it's well worth it and one said she had surgery on a Wednesday and was back at work the following Monday

I am 39 now and had a BR about 4 years ago, I was a DD but very heavy and had sore shoulders/neck/headaches. I paid for it myself and have not looked back. The doctors kept me strapped for the first 4 days so cut down on bruising, the pain was very tolerable with normal pain killers every now and then. I don't remember having many pain killers at all.

I would definately recommend it as long as you go thru with the doctor the possible side affects and are fully aware of any problems that might occur.

I haven't looked back

Default Follow your heart

Hay there
I am 27 years old and had a breast reduction at the age of 25. I made a clear conscientious decision to have surgery through the NHS with the help and support of my GP.
Every day was a living nightmare for me and I constantly felt alone as I didn?t talk about it through fear of showing my insecurity. Every woman that had smaller neater breast than me I envied. Bra sopping was a nightmare so I would live and die in the same bra and would never go swimming on holiday as I would never wear a swimsuit.
My back was in great pain and I even had to give up my job as a hair stylist as doctors orders. My chest was a 34 F and I am now a 34 DD and I feel and look amazing. I have so much more confidence and the pain in my back instantly vanished.
I have scars but they tell a story to part of my life that I have left in the past and remind me of where I am going and to be honest they are not that bad, I have full sensation in my nipples and all around the breast area and felt very very little pain after surgery. I had the best experience ever with my surgery and some would say that I was really lucky. Most of the pain I experienced was before the surgery mentally. I would do it all again If I had to.
Do your research and follow your heart.
God bless

Default Best thing I ever did

Just a word to those of you who may be thinking of reducing the size of your breasts surgically. I am 5'1" and, at 49 years of age, had reached a bra size of 40 DDD. My back and neck hurt and my breasts hung down to my waist. There was no getting confortable and I walked hunched over. No one in my family had ever had any "cosmetic surgery" so this would be a big step if I did it. Finally, I decided to check out plastic surgeons in my city who specialized in this procedure. I went to three different doctors. All were very understanding, non-judgmental and explained my options to me. I chose one surgeon and had the reduction done so that I would be a 34 C. My nipples were moved so that they were looking forward instead of at my feet. So much tissue was removed that - happy surprise - my insurance paid for the surgery. There was VERY LITTLE pain while I was healing - absolutely nothing that a couple of aspirin wouldn't take care of. During the healing process I was told to sleep on my back for a few weeks. I wish I had not waited so long to have the reduction. If you really are uncomfortable, physically and/or emotionally, because of oversized breasts, do not hesitate to talk with a plastic surgeon.
