    Default Breast Reduction at 21

Hey, I'm 21 years old and I am going to have a breast reduction. I am 5'4", weigh 150 pounds, and I wear I size 34 DD (but even that doesn't fit right). I'm actually doing it because just recently I started going to the gym and jogging and my breasts just wont stay down lol. I wear 3 bras and it is still very awkward when I run. I actually have to hold my breasts down, and the last time I came home from the gym and took off my bras, the side of my breasts were killing me, like had just been yanked or something. I also have bad stretch marks and back pain. I was just wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing, or had a breast reduction and can tell me what to expect. I'm really nervous. I really hate the hospital and anything to do with blood. I'm also nervous because my mom has had breast cancer twice now. The first time she had it they didn't see it till it was the size of a golf ball because it was behind some scar tissue. They had to reconstruct her breast using tissue from her stomach. And the second time they had to remove her entire breast. She has no feeling and a lot of really bad scars. I'm so afraid that if I have a reduction that I will have scars like that and lose feeling. Does anyone have any input?

Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Yankeegirl, Heather here from melb Australia. Am having a breast reduction this coming tuesday. Currently a size 10 G and going to a size c-d and cant wait. Like you am sick of back pain, sore boobs after sport etc. My hubby and I saw a few surgeons and have decided on the one we want to do the procedure. He is performing a "Vertical reduction mammoplasty". This procedure was perfected by a prominant belgian surgeon a few years ago and now it is regarded as a less invasive procedure also resulting in less scarring and less long term nipple disfunction " sensitivity loss ". From others, both surgeons and friends who have had it done we have gathered nipple sensation does return in the greater majority of people having this procedure since during surgey every effort is used to relocate the nipple and nerve endings to thier new location following the lift/reduction".

Hope whatever you do works out for you.

    Heather xx

Age is only a relative issue. If you're 21 and you think you need to have breast reduction for your own personal reason, make sure to understand every consequences of the surgery like complications, recovery , scars etc. You need a clear understanding of the pros and cons of the surgery so no one will be blame if imperfection occurs.

This is much different then a breast enhancement procedure. I had a friend that had this done when she was only 18 years old. Her breasts were causing her a lot of back pain and did this to relieve her health complications. If she feels that this needs to be done, she should go ahead with the breast reduction surgery.

I'm 20 and have the same problems as you. I'm a size DD and they freaking tear at my spinal erector muscles. I really want reduction surgery.

i'm 27 and a 12/14K i'm wanting to go to a d/dd. you 20 somethings need to think of if you are wanting children as they remove the milk glands so you prob wont be able to breast feed. also you have not stopped growing yet i know the pain you are in but listen to what the docs say. but i feel your pain and if you still want to do it after you have listened to what the dos tell you then go for it
