Smile First consult with Plastic Surgeon for Breast Reduction

I am a 41 year old female who kept growing after puberty. I sag big time and no bra fits no matter how large I buy. Its pretty frustrating that I can't wear pretty bra's because of my condition.
I am scheduled for a consult with a plastic surgeon on October 6th and it can't come soon enough. Back problems that I am taking steroids, muscle relaxants and vicodin for pain. Bra strap indentions and I could go on and on.
I would love to hear from anyone who has been through this. I am 5 5 and weigh 240 and wear a 40DDD bra.
Before surgery I am going to get in shape for a better and healthier recovery. Surgery doesn't scare me since i have been through so many. I only have fear when they start the IV because I am a hard stick. I am currently unemployed and now would be the best time to have this done so I don't have to take off time.

Thanks for listening. Am anxious to hear about your experiences.

If you lose weight your boobs will get smaller. I've gained weight lately and my boobs grew and they were already big 36E, so if I lose weight it will be lost in my breast first. Losing weight is always a better alternative to having surgery.

I agree wth Zii that if you can act for you health and lose some weight you may find the problem resolves itself and it would be better for your general health.

I agree with the ladies. wieght loss could help. I myself was a 44DDD a month and a half ago and am now a 41DD. Try to get healthy before going through with the surgery. Hopefully, you will have a more natural way of relieving your pain

Ok, I have to say I agree, but disagree!

I NEVER lost weight in my chest! NEVER! I was always as thin as a rail, and yet had boobs to bigger then my head. LOL

I was always active, that caused huge gashes in my shoulder. I felt like I had a black eye when I ran!
I often had headaches, I couldn't fit into cloths...

Do I go on and on! I was big forever! I did not gain a chest as I gained weight! So, when I lost weight, I never lost there either!

In 2006, I had a BR done! It was the BEST THING I EVER DID!

I had 2 pounds removed for each boob!

I have since then lost a 30 lbs, and am HAPPIER then I have ever been!

I can't believe that I waited so long to have it done. I was always fearful of the pain, recovery... but it was not nearly as bad as I ever thought it would be!

Here is where I agree, if you can lose a few pounds BEFORE your surgery, you will get better results. I think doctors try and form your new chest based on your body size. So the more you lose up front, the more in portion they will look when you lose weight. But, I never lost a pound going in!

If you ever have any questions, message me!!! I will gladly tell you my experience. I did it and will never look back! Make sure you look into good doctors! But, if you want it, go for it! Your life will change!
Change is possible, day by day!

Need help reaching your goals, ask me! I'd love to support and coach you for Free!

After years of lower back problems and pain. Never being able to find a bra that fit comfortably or properly (even after going to several "bra fitters") my ex wife had a BR.

One of the very first things her surgeon told her....didn't ask her, but told her....was to lose weight. NOt once did he claim that weight loss would reduce the size of her breasts, ONLY that it would help her go through the surgery and recover much easier and more quickly. Based on that, it's obvious that some women gain and lose weight in their breasts and apparently some don't, but there is no arguing over the surgery and recovery related benefits of weight loss.

If I were you, I'd be cautious of the surgeon that wants to go ahead with surgery in your current physical shape. Get another opinion.....we got five before my ex wife felt comfortable. I felt five was a bit excessive but it's not my body, it's hers.

It's a big decision and a dramatic step, please make sure you go into it with both eyes open and plenty of research done.
