    Default Liposuction vs. Tummy Tuck.....

Does anyone know the difference or had either? I have a FAT stomach. I am a little overweight but the bulk of it is in my gut. I would love to get a tummy tuck or lipo--of course I don't have the money now, but this would be one of those medium term goals. Do any of you know the difference, if you only have one, both or if certain ones are recommended over the other? I need some serious fact removal--I really think it is beyond crunches and sit ups!

Liposuction is where fat is sucked from the body. A tummy tuck is where skin is cut apart, bits removed and then sewn back together much tighter. It's usually performed when someone has lost a lot of weight and has loose skin.

Or at least I'm pretty sure that's the difference.

And crunches and sit ups won't remove fat from the stomach, they are only good for toning the muscles in the area (which won't show unless the stomach has very little fat). You need a proper programme of diet and exercise in order to lose the weight. Are you trying this?

If not, please do before you take the drastic measure of having lipo.

yeah I'd say lipo if loose skin is not the problem. I had both...I am petite and had huge babies and tons of loose skin as a result. I had just a small amount of "flank" fat that my surgeon removed via liposuction in combonation with the tuck.

If you're at your ideal weight and healthy in general, lipo sounds like what you might want to look into. a tuck woud probably be way more than you need!

As a side note, the trainers I work with often say crunches and sit ups will make a bulky tummy look even bulkier because you're building up muscle under the fat. Do toning type exercises may help more (planks, side planks, boat poses, etc)

    good luck!!

Both is a NO-NO for me. Aside from being expensive, its scary...I can just tone down naturally
