I have been researching Smartlipo as an alternative to lipo. Has anyone had this done?

HI. I actually just has smart lipo last night. I am in bed today and taking is easy and am definatly sore, but everything looks great already. The worst part of the the process is the way the relaxing and pain meds make you feel. I had my stromach and love handles done and so far everything looks much slimmer and tight! Let me know if you have any other questions
I would definiatly recomend it

One great thing about smart lipo is once the fat is removed from a particular area of the body, it will never return. If you gain fat in the future, it will be deposited elsewhere on your body. |

I am considering having lipo and have been reading about Tumscent Lipo on Dr. Amron's site. He is in Los Angeles. Has anyone had this procedure and how did it go? And, has anyone been to Dr. Amron?

I had lipo about 10 years ago. I thought it was the best thing I had ever done. Once I found out that the area on top of my hips was called the flanks, I was determined to get rid of them..lol. Anyway, I would certainly do it again but unfortunately, what happens is that you continue to gain weight eventually and you just have another body part issue. Now, I can't seem to get rid of tummy fat which in all honesty bothers me more....arrggghhh. Anyway, just think about it. I'd say that if you have a body part that is unusually large, say saddlebags or a large tummy...go for it but do keep in mind that you will have another issue at some point in time. It may seem like the ideal thing to do but in reality, it's not. Oh well, hope that helps some.

Thanks Joyce!
I know it has been awhile, but I am wondering if I can ask you a few questions about your procedure. Did you have your procedure in LA or southern Calif.? And, what was your recovery like and did you have general anethesia or local? I have been doing some internet research and really like the technique Dr. Amron uses because it is under local anethesia. (I am a little afraid of being put under completely). Thanks again! |

My procedure was done in Chicago. I got a recommendation from another doctor so I figured that had to count for something. Do your homework there and get a few recommendations. I was awake throughout the entire procedure and it wasn't all that bad. I remember that the doc gave me shots to numb the pain and truthfully, that was the only pain involved. If you can stand getting shots, hey, worth it I'd say.
I think the entire procedure probably took about an hour? I had to wear a compression garment for about a week or so and no one can see that so it was no big deal. Truthfully, I'd do it again in a heartbeat but I think it's pointless unless you have an area of the body that is way out of proportion or something. You will gain weight and it will now go to another area of your body. I now have a larger belly then I ever had and I hate that. I thought ok...time to get this removed but then I'd have to deal with whatever other part of my body that gains weight next. I'm sure it will be my thighs cuz I tend to see them gain a bit when I eat more then I should. Oh one other plus was that my breasts gained a bit so that was nice....a natural pumping up there is never a bad thing is it? Any other questions, I'd be happy to answer if I can. Good luck in whatever you decide but do think it all over. I've always wondered...if a person keeps doing lipo and keeps getting rid of more and more body fat, what happens then....I guess you could end up with back fat and fat in a lot of weird places. |

I have heard that it doesn't work as well as lipo suction, many smart lipo patients return later for 'real' lipo.
