I am late for my period and have had sore breasts, I didnt worry too much because im only 3 days late....

    However,

My boyfriend of 2 months has been crook as a dog for about a week and a half, he has been vomiting and has nuasia all the time.
A few nights ago he came and asked me if i had been taking my pill properly, and I said yes, and he said he thinks he has sympathy sickness, apparently its when the partner or a pregnant woman suffers nuasia, before the woman realises she is pregnant.

This sent me in a panic, I have now had nuasia, back aches, cramps, and still late for my period. My BF had the same sickness with his ex when she fell pregnant, so Im very worried.

Please let me know if anyone knows anything more about this 'sympathy sickness', is it true, or is it a myth? Could my boyfriend being sick indicate I may be carrying?

    Hi and welcome.

If you want to add anything, add to this thread, don't start a new post.

You are on the pill, that is a good contraception..

Your boyfriend is scaring the ....out of you, and more than likely you both have a flu of sorts, as back pain is associated often with either flus or else period pains.

When your body is "ill" ie) flu, it will often delay your period as it is already trying to deal with one thing.

Your Doctor is right, you need a week before she can do a blood test.

Your breast also can get sore before your period starts, mine do and they are larger, the only bonus about that time of the month that I like.

The more you stress, the more likely the delay.
