Question I Need Help

I need some help/advice if you can ... I started a thread here already:

To make things shorter in hopes for responses:
I'm 19 and in college. I had sex (penetration) for the first real time - we have always skirted around doing that until now - and this was around September 27th.

used condoms, and I was so nervous, we didn't get too far. He never even leaked inside of me.

There may have been one point without a condom, but it was short. I'm not sure.

Two weeks later, I started to have a headache. Then this past Saturday, I was so tired I basically slept all day. My head was pounding. I barely ate.

Sunday, I felt immensely better, but still light headed and slightly dizzy and tired. Monday, I felt almost one hundred percent compared to that.

I had been panicking because those symptoms sounded like pregnancy, and that was the most common Google result. It began to hurt when I urinated, and at least twice, there was a steady stream of bright red blood afterward, more than just a few drops.

This was during my supposed 'period' time, starting around the 11th or 12th. But it didn't seem like period blood at all - you don't urinate blood like it is urine itself.

I went to the health center Monday. $24 later, a urine pregnancy test came back negative. A UTI test also came back negative.

They told me there was something going around that could constiture my fatigue, abdominal pain and elevated temperature.

But my period is being light - very brown blooded, even stopped for like half a day or so before starting again. I have had it for about five days now.

I had my pregnancy test 16-17 days after having sex.

And my boobs hurt more than I have ever personally noticed. They also recently seem to show a milky white substance when in the hot shower and being pummeled by water. They do not seem to leak otherwise.

Even in pregnancy, they say lactating isn't something until much much later.

Currently, I am bloated, have not thrown up at all, am not constipated, it no longer hurts to urinate, nor do I bleed streams of bright blood anymore when urinating. There is sometimes abdominal pain, but moreso breast and upper chest and back pain right now. No more headaches or excessive fatigue, and no more sleeping all day or fainting when coming out of the shower (I almost fainted Sunday night).

So, what is this? I have an appointment on Wednesday, but hope to change it to Monday or Tuesday.

On Monday I went to the health center. They did a urine test and a UTI. Both came out negative. My period came the day before, or what seemed to be my period. I urinated once or twice, and a steady stream of bright red blood followed. Afterward this did not happen. It also stopped hurting at the end of urinating. My period, after a day or so, tapered into brown blood, and now it is even lighter, and near when it should end.

My breasts are sore, and in the shower, my nipples seem to secrete a white substance, but only just barely - it never really leaks, and this only happens in the shower it seems.

My temp. was elevated, or the doctor said Monday, and there is a fever-ish thing going around that would have caused my headaches and fatigue and abdominal pain. I am no longer immensely fatigued, nor have headaches all day. Overall, I don't hurt much elsewhere besides some discomfort in my breasts.

What should I do? Could either test have been wrong? Any one else relate to this feeling? I am bloated slightly at the moment, but that can be expected with my period ... but this period is very awkward. No sickness, my appetite is fine ... advice?

It is very common for stomach viruses, flu's to distress the body when periods are due and make things feel totally different than the norm.

Does it still hurt when you urinate? Is there still blood coming from this ?

The lactating i can't even understand judging from the dates that you provided and the fact that you have had your period i doubt that you are pregnant personally.

You could also be lactose intollerant "bloating" stomach in pain, so try and not have any dairy products or spices for 2 weeks and see if that changes things.

It no longer hurts to urinate, and no, there is no more blood. What I think was my period seems to be dwindling into nothing, light brown discharge and very very light. The bleeding after urination happened about twice but in odd amounts ... it wasn't just a drop.

But no, neither are happening anymore. I plan on going back to the health center next week ASAP about the breast thing, as that would not even seem to happen three weeks into a pregnancy.

I have never been lactose intolerant before - can it spring up so suddenly like that? As far as I know, no one in my family is lactose intolerant either. Since college, I believe I have even been having less dairy products - at home I would drink milk every morning; here I don't even have breakfast most of the time.

I just don't know what the blood was about, and if the pregnancy or UTI could have been wrong. Thank you though, I have slowly stopped stressing so much over this, and am just waiting things out. But it is annoying not to know what is going on - pregnancy and UTI seemed to be the only explanations.

Your stomach can obtain various bugs, it is thought that IBS is caused from excessive stress and just comes about... The dairy products, meat, chilli, those types of things seem to bloat the stomach, give pain and sometimes you can have strange periods, or spotting when you are not on your period at all...

Boob swelling is period, normal as i said, not sure about the lactating though.

Glad your going back, it can never hurt to be sure..

De-stress yourself as much as possible anyway in the meantime and still give the spicy foods/huge amounts of meat/ butter / milk / eggs a non-go for a couple of weeks and check. It's the only way you can work out if you are now lactose intollerant or have IBS...

Have a little google on it.

All right, I'll have a look at IBS and lactose intolerance - I don't think I've been consipated, and definitely not having diarrhea but I'll take a look. To bleed like that, and with the brown discharge around the time of my period ... well within the time of my period - does that say that the pregnancy is probably out of the question? At the health center, after I told them about having the chills and headaches, and they said my temperature was slightly elevated, they said if I was pregnant, I wouldn't have had that. Is that true?

I don't think i can answer that for you, as I am not a Doctor... but i would agree that chills/headaches, temperature really is a completely different illness... I would think it to be true.

IBS doesn't mean constipation or diarrhea some dont' suffer that part, you more than likely, seriously, had a horrid bug in your stomach...

Thank you so much CW, you are the first person to respond to any of my inqueries between here and another site and I appreciate it. I will come back and tell the results of my visit to the health center in a few days to satisfy anyone's curiosity, and I guess I can only wait from here.

Hey, just checking back. Took another pregnancy test this morning, this time an hpt I went out and bought myself; first response (and the early one at that, meaning by this point, it would need to be accurate). It was a clear negative, one solid pink line. This is truly comforting.

I went to the health center, and talked with a gynecologist there for a while about everything, broke down a few times. I really never realize how much that week and a half of overall stressing affected me until I have to talk about it with someone. She reassured me in the accuracy of the pregnancy test I took there a week ago, as well as what stress can do to your periods and body in general.

Girls, if you ever start freaking out about being pregnant, don't do it. And don't hunt the internet all day about it - wait until you can take a test and just do it. Otherwise you will stress yourself as much as I did, and it really sucks; it isn't healthy, and takes a major toll on your body. We deduced that it is quite possible my stress caused everything I experienced, along with getting sick in between. My stressing could have caused my breasts to leak a bit, and since both do, it doesn't seem to be a serious condition.

I also discovered I have a yeast infection. That would quite possibly explain the painful urination issue I had. I only hope it didn't spread so far as to create all these random aches in my body. I'll have to wait until the pill sets in and does its job and see. They offered me a blood pregnancy test, but I think I really don't need it any more. If my anxiety and such doesn't resettle itself, I will consider it, only because sometimes, when you have gotten this far, you need every doubt to convince you. But slowly, I am accepting and convincing myself that I am, indeed, not pregnant.

Thus: DO NOT STRESS if in this situation. You will make things much worse for yourself.
