Strangers commenting on how pregnant you look
Hey Ladies
I was just wondering what the polite way to tell people to shut up is when they are commenting on just how big you are! Yesterday I heard "are you sure you arent having twins?" for the first time! I mean, I didnt think I was any more pregnant looking than the next woman...but apparently I am! I also get "You must be due ANY day now!" and Im not due for another month! I get these comments every now and then and I was just wondering if there is a nice way to put these people in their place? I think they mean well... but its hard to hear sometimes when you already feel like a beached whale! Any suggestions?

Their comments are natural... It's their way of saying "congratulations" . They don't know you at all but every pregnant woman is glowing and every woman loves seeing a pregnant woman, knowing what is inside... Memories for them, or wishes.............
If they said, wow you are radiant, glowing, congratulations not long hey.. You probably would feel fantastic.
It's only the blues of feeling like a "beach ball" that you are taking the "words" instead of the intended meaning.
Smile... not long to go and know that those people and feeling happy over a pregnant woman, thinking of themselves, past or future....
Agree with the poster above, in that knowing, laugh it off, make a joke about it, off course your sensitive at the moment.
Don't look at it that way, "as words"....

Thanks ladiesThanks for putting it in that perspective CW... I guess I am pretty sensitive right now, and I know they mean well. Next time someone says that, I will realize its just their way of saying their congrats, or them being reminiscent.

We're actually waiting to find out...but we have one ultrasound left next week, and Im tempted to find out...but we've waited so long that we will probably just keep waiting! Yes, it will be our first! Im so excited, but a little nervous too...there are just so many emotions going through me at once
