Hello!My name is Gabby,14 years old and 30 weeks pregnant.Im gladly to say that I have my parents full support.The father of my baby hasnt spoken to me since the day I told him.His family is helping out by buying the things we will need when the baby arrives.I mostly just talk to his mom,never him.Anyways,my mom and I have tried to apply for Medicaid but I wasnt eligable.My parents income was over the limit.I have been seeing a doctor.They day I went to go get a lab done, the lady told my mom and I that since I am pregnant, Im now considered an adult.She also said that I was able to apply for Medicaid for myself and my baby.The next day we went to go see a social worker and once again they asked for my parents income papers.My mom and I right away knew we werent going to be eligable.A friend of my moms told her that they shouldnt be asking for any papers of their income.She said that I should be eligable since Im applying for Medicaid for myself.
What can I do to be able to get Medicaid?What should I do?
I need help!!

My grandmother is a medicaid speacialist in the state of MS
I asked her and she said you should ask for a review of your case
Or ask to speak to the social workers supervisor

I don't know much about your situation...i just want to tell you that you are a very brave girl. Just be strong when you go in to talk to these people and show them who is boss. Good luck, i know how intimadating social services can be. You are in my prayers!

I came to this website in search of information concerning artificial insemination, and your post stood out to me. You are so young and are going to need all the support you can get... I live in Illinois and work as a caseworker for the state-sponsored child care assistance program. We also help with and make referrals to other forms of assistance. As a teen mom, you qualify for A LOT, including health care for you and your baby, child care, etc. There are many programs and organizations for teen parents. Please do your research---you can find out a lot on the Internet!
