Hi all. My name is Elizabeth. I'm 26 and I have 3 girls, one 5, 2, and the newest one is about 6 months. My question concerns an after preg. problem so I'm posting here, seemed to fit best. Just a little back ground i've had 3 c-sections the first two were emergency; the 1st was due to fetal distress and the second was due to a uterus rupture (the previous incision had given way). My third was normal as far as the doc could tell all through the preg but i was in an abnormal amount of pain the whole 9 months. When we delivered he was to tie my tubes (enough risks for me, no boy but i'll live) what he found was so much scar tissue he couldn't get to my tubes to tie them and only managed to clamp them off. Now i'm suddenly having very serious back pain ( that the doc says is sciatica, at 26?), my cycle which is usualy so regular i'll put on a pad the night b4 i start because i know i'll be bleeding in the morning; suddenly i have no clue when it will start. I skipped a month and now i'm spotting off and on almost all the time, been going on for a month now. I know the baby is only 6 months and i really shouldn't be regular yet but i was. i bleed for two weeks and then everything went back to normal. i'm tired and weak all the time, i have dizzy spells, i've put ON weight, i can't sleep, my temper is completly out of control and usualy i'm a very easy going - can't me off- type person. I have talked to a doctor and they see everything as individual stuff but i can't shake the feeling something is very wrong. I would like your thoughts, maybe it will give me something to tell the doc and win my argument for more testing atleast. thanks, ya'll

Hey love, I think when our body is out of wack from the lovely bleeding cycle we are weak....

Dizzyness may be part of it, but temper is non sleep is it not?

Your not sleeping well either, due to baby, two other children, the stress of what's happening and dear me you have been to and back with all of them.

As for weight, are you eating when you can and therefore grabbing what ever is around?

What my sweet is your other half doing to help you?

There could be another problem but if we eliminate the above, or not, then we can work from there....

could be. the baby sleeps through the night but my husband always gets up with her when he is home (he works the evening but usually home by midnight) and i try to sleep during the day some too, i'm actually eating healthier then when i was preg (i love to cook), the temper could be related to not sleeping but its not my usual temperment.

    Well, only you know..

Midnight is way late to get to bed... or proper sleep let's face it...

It's 840 in Australia... What time is it there, now?

He obviously does his best but, you wake up like 6am, 6.30, 700am, that's still great if you sleep right through but still not enough..

    sciatica,
Have that, it's a nerve thing.... I got it in an injury, when it's bad, i have "shaking leg sycndrome...

So do you feel it's a nerve? Again, lack of sleep makes you way crankky.....

    Sorry for the questions.

But how else can others answer their thoughts?

it almost sounds like your homones are out of whack, could you see an endocronologist? but maybe it is the tiredness of having three children under five, i have seen many sweet placid women, pushed passed endurance from their exhausting toddlers - good luck sweetie!

Ya know what i would see a doctor and possibly get your thyroid checked. If youare tired, putting on weight ect then your thyroid which helps control the pituitary gland and which controls all your hormones. This could be causing you to have a period stop have another for two weeks. Your hormones sound out of wack.

My mom after her 2nd c section when thru this and she suffered for years and years before a dr finally tested it. Cause after all the on off periods she had low iron and they gave her iron shots for years thinking that was the root of her problems.

good luck but if you haven't had thyroid tested ask your dr or read up on it and see if it truly fits your symptoms.

Actually it is herditary. I don't know why your mom had hers removed but if it was low or high which yours sounds low because they can run over active and under active.

I have mine checked every 2 years or atleast try to remember to have it done every 2 years.

good luck and no i don't think you are crazy

Do get in and get a complete check up. Yes you can get sciatica at any age, it's a physical condition, essentially a nerve pinch. I had it a couple years ago and it can take time to correct and heal. I went to a bio phsyical chiropractor and he was great help. You should see one for an evaluation. It's amazing how interelated the body and things you would think could affect each other can.
