When I was trying to get pregnant years ago, I went off the pill and nothing happened for 6 months so we went to the GP and he suggested an ovulation thermometer, whereby you take your temperature everyday before even sitting up in bed, and mke not on an ovulation chart. This way after a couple of months you will know when you are ovulating, then all you do is abstain for a week before to let your partners sperm build up, then the day before, the actual day and the day after you are due to ovulate you perform like to little rabbits, the keep everything crossed and hope your pregnant.
We did that, and even though it took us exactly a year to fall pregnant, I knew the exact night everything happened because of the ovulation chart.
Good luck trying! & HAVE FUN!!!!!!
