    Default Morning sickness (kinda gross)

So I am 14 weeks today and my morning sickness hasn't gotten too bad. A little (I mean alot) of nausea all day especially in the morning. But lately, about the last 3 weeks or so) I can't fight back the urge to throw up. It only happens after I eat something. I wake up and I am REALLY hungry or come home from work and I'm starving. I eat something (today it was Pizza...I know bad...I haven't eaten junk food for weeks now! only today) and then it starts to feel like i'm going to burp, but then it turns into a heave. So usually I sit calm and heave and if I feel something come up I rush to the bathroom. Now keep in mind I had no feeling of nausea before this, just hunger and I eat slowly.

Why is this happening? I never throw up even if I am nearly fainting from nausea. Is it because i'm too hungry? But when I have nausea I can't eat because I feel too gross and no appitite (sometimes i'll force myself to eat crackers) I work all night so theres no time to stop and snack when I actually am hungry, I have to wait for break like everybody else (pregnant or not) So I can't have little meals throughout the day and usually I am so sick by the time lunch rolls around I don't eat (I try to tho) Ginger Ale works good for me too but not all the time.

I have already lost 15 pounds and I am scared to lose anymore if this keeps happening. It is nearly impossible to see my Gyno or Doctor without waiting a month (I'm in Canada) But I have a Gyno appointment on the 25th of this month so i'll ask her then what to do...until then..any suggestions? Did this happen to anyone here?

    Thanks,
    Cree

I used to do that when i was prego. It was because i waited too long to eat. At the first sign of hunger i would try to eat something light to hold off until i could eat a full meal. If i waited too long and didn't eat a little something i would get sick, everytime, but i could eat again and be fine. I used to work at night too but always found some way to snack on something small.. I think it has alot to do with your uterus growing and pressing against your stomach. Things will change and get better!! One day you'll have a craving for something that you loved before you got preg. then after you eat it you'll figure out that the baby hates it and up it comes. that happened with collard greens for me i love them but when i was preg. with my son i could not eat them cause everytime i would i would throw-up. to this day i can not get him to eat collards. Funny huh!!

I am only about 8 weeks along and I am SO thankful to not have had any signs of morning sickness so far! (KNOCK ON WOOD!) In all the books I have read and websites I have browsed the things they say to help alleviate some of the morning sickness are to stay hydrated (even if that means small sips of water every 30 minutes), eat something small frequently (like every 2 hrs) and right before bed, and eat nutritious foods. I think that from the get go I was doing this and it must be helping to keep it away.

I understand your concerns about work, but you should also be very concerned about your health! You NEED to take those little breaks and really try to stay a step ahead of your hunger I think. What if instead of taking your traditional 30 minute lunch break (which you are not eating during anyway) you request to take three 10 minute breaks spread out throughout the night. You would not be taking more than your fair share of time away from working, you can sneak away to eat when you feel the urge and might actually hold it down, and I am sure you will feel better if you can eat!

Peppermint is a natural remedy for upset stomachs. Maybe you can carry some of those in your pocket and suck on them in the interim to help curve the nausea. My girlfriend lived off of wint-o-green lifesavers for like 3 months when she was pregnant, haha.

    Good Luck!

hey there, i heard that it helps alot to eat smaller bits throughout the day. even if your not hungry, just snack on something. Something fresh though, not greasy stuff. make a couple of sandwiches with seed loaf, and eat a slice every 2 hours, or snack on a salad or fruit every hour. Its very very healthy. also, if you drink a cup of warm water with lemon juice (a whole lemon or a teaspoon if its concentrated) it neuralises the stomach completely and also helps for nausea. I drink it about twice daily. its also very helpful for urinary tract infection, bloodpressure, headache, colds, heartburn and a bunch of other stuff.

    Hi Sweetlee,

Just wanted to say thanks for the tip with the warm water and lemon. I think i might be prego and am having a little mornig sickness and also have a urinary tract infection. My doctor put me on amoxicillin (it's the only prego safe antibiotic).

Thanks everyone for your advice. I keep a pack of crackers in the maintenance room in case I feel hungry then I go snack on a few.

So does the lemon-water have to be hot? Or can it be lemonade?
