I'm not trying to change your mind but don't go down that path in order to avoid talking about it to people such as family.

You local Doctor or Family Clinic will discuss with you how it all works, should you be pregnant and decide to go ahead with an abortion.

It will involve being admitted to a hospital to be carried out as you will have to be anesthetized.

    Good luck that your not.

If you are go and talk it out with a Doctor and also family and the father of the child...

I live in Canada, you don’t have to be admitted to a hospital here and I would assume that Australia is quite similar and should have women’s clinics- it would just Google it or call the general hospital and ask if they recommend anywhere. The anaesthetic they give you here is just laughing gas and wears off in about 30 minutes but you remain alert the whole time. It is not a negative experience and for me was really very comparable to going for a pap. I did it on my lunch break at work but I think that was a bit much and I would recommend taking a few days off after because your hormones are a bit out of whack and it is a good reason to take some time to yourself and reflect a bit.

It only took only a few minutes and the rest of the time was just spent waiting around. You do need to let a friend know so that they can drop you off and pick you up as you are not able to drive after the laughing gas. It is also good to have at least one good support. There is really no need to discuss it with your family or your family doctor unless you are young and uncertain about things and feel it would somehow benefit you. This is really your decision and primarily affects your life and personally I would never have dreamt of bringing other people into such a personal decision- I discussed it only once I had made the decision and I only told two people who I knew would be 100% supportive- there is no value in bringing in conflicting viewpoints if you already know what you want. It is a delicate situation and some people will take advantage of that in order to laden you with unnecessary guilt or fear.

In my experience I was put under general anestetic and kept for a couple hours after the procedure.
