Default Miscarriage or am I just crazy?

I 22, never been pregnant, and I'm on birth control. There were a few days last month around the time I ovulate that I forgot to take my birth control and didn't realize I hadn't taken it until after intercourse. A couple weeks later, I starts feeling some pregnancy symptoms (nausea, etc) and didn't have my period on time.

My period came 3 days late, and it was an EXTREMELY heavy flow. It lasted 8 or 9 days (usually lasts 4-6). Immediately following my period, I had daily spotting for about two weeks. Now I should be ovulating again, but instead I'm having another period.

I read somewhere that this could be due to a miscarriage. Has anyone experienced this before? Or is my body just messed up?

If it is a miscarriage, the only way to know would be to go to a doctor and have tests done. I don't know if missing a few pills mis-cycle is enough for you to get pregnant. How long after intercourse did you realize your mistake and did you take you missed pills? And how many did you miss?

I missed 3 or 4 pills, and I didn't realize it until the next morning.

Go see a doctor that's the only way you'll know if you miscarried.

If your body did fully complete the miscarriage, I am not sure a doctor will be able to confirm anything for you. The body would have ideally released all of the indicating tissue. I would still go to the doctor just to be safe because if you did actually have a miscarriage you want to make sure you do not need a D&C to prevent infection from tissue that did not fully release.

Did you take those 3 or 4 pills when you realized you missed them? That's what you are supposed to do, and it would work similarly to the morning after pill.

You never ever take 3 or 4 pills at once.....It is dangerous.

Take an active (hormone) pill as soon as possible and then continue taking your pill at the regular time every day after that. You have the option of taking one of the missed pills 3 days in a row, taking two missed pills on the same day and the third the next, or – if you really want to stay on schedule – taking the first missed pill and throwing the other missed pills away.

Any time you miss 3 or more active pills in a row, use condoms or don’t have sex until you have taken active hormone pills for 7 days in a row.

If you missed pills in the third week of your pack, finish the active hormone pills and then immediately start a new pack. Do not take the 7 inactive pills.

If you missed pills in the first week of your pack, you might want to consider using emergency contraception.
