I'm pretty sure it's illegal in Canada, so I wouldn't have any nearby experiences, but if you want a random educated thought, it's way safer than selling a kidney!
I always see advertisements for this and was told I'm a prime candidate beacuse I'm healthy, good weight, don't smoke, rarely drink ect...but it still seems kinda wierd to me.
Has any one done this?? Or have any stories or experiences with it?

Sure go for it if you don't mind being pumped full of drugs for 2 weeks (burning injections twice daily), absolutely NO sex for a month, no booze either and daily visits to a fertility doctor...oh not to mention feeling like you have PMS everyday for a month!! eek!
google "selling your eggs in canada" and read the first story that comes up.
You could be helping out a couple that has been trying to concieve without success....but do you think the pain, stress and time is worth it? To some yes, to many NOOOO WAY!!![]()

My girlfriend did it and reportedly received around 8grand. I'm not sure what the break down was but I know she had to have a lot of shots, she did have sex had to see the doc regularly but thats just about all I know.
I have frequently thought about doing this but I have to loose weight first. So if its something you decide to do keep me posted![]()

Also...in my mind a month of being uncomfortable so that some other couple can have peace of mind, raise a life, become a mother and father...yes..it's worth it to me. Granted I also believe in adoption because there are a lot of kids who needs homes out there...however I understand how a woman would want to actually hold her own child and birth her own child.

Oh really now? Lets say perhaps they didn't pay you at all, would you still do it? I think egg donation is more about the money than the "helping out" part.
I would do it for free if it were family or a really good friend (but all my good friends are having no problems reproducing lol )
But hey, for $7000 of untaxable not-worked-hard-for cash....i'd say do it.
I wouldn't be a good candidate, i'm fat lol (but I don't smoke, do drugs, or even think about drinking alcohol, even pre-pregnancy...and i'm also currently pregnant so my eggs are healthy....)
What about being a surrogate? I would TOTALLY do that for a family member or close friend...as for a stranger?....if the price was right I guess....but that whole injecting myself twice a day for two weeks makes me uneasy....I hate needles lol

It's funny you mention being a surrogate because I actually asked my brother if he wanted me to. His wife can not have children for what ever reason and it hurts her to talk about it. He loves her beyond love! So they have no children. For my brother I would shed my own blood! I love him as if he was my father!
Lets see...if the money wasn't apart of it....hmmmmm I think that if we had a shortage of children in the world that needed loving families I would. I have to be honest and say that the money is a perk...a very alluring perk. I have heard that people receive up to 10000 sooooooo with that being said who can't use an extra 10000? I don't know if it's tax free I didn't ask but I will. Also that is NY's rate I know it varies from state to state .
