Hi, we have been married for over 2.5 yrs and now want to have a lil member in our family ... Since last mnth, we have started having sex without any protection but I feel we dont have a clear conception of the right time to do it ... I have heard you need to rest a while after the intercourse ... Is it true? ... I am slightly over weight ... Will it be better to lose weight and then try for the baby ... I had my period ...Does it take months to conceive or it just happens ... Do I need to consult a doctor to know the right way of planning parenthood ... Both of us are below 30 yrs of age and dont have any serious health issues ...
    Plz guide me ...
    Thanks in advance

Everyone is different. Don't stress, just take your time, give each other lots of lovin and it will happen. Some people take months and months to get pregnant and some it's a one-time big OOPS.

Regardless of whether or not you're planning to get pregnant, you should get into shape. We all should. Besides, it will be that much easier to get back into shape after the baby.

You generally ovulate 14-16 days after the first day of your last period. Shoot for around that time frame. Also, you don't need to hump like rabbits to get pregnant. He should take a break from ejaculating prior to you ovulating (just a couple of days), his sperm count will be higher.

But like Sourpuss said, don't stress over it, it makes things more difficult. Just relax and have fun.

I just wanted to comment on resting after sex. The idea is that you want to keep as much semen inside of you after sex to improve your chances of conceiving. You can just lay in bed for a while to keep it from dripping out too much, or you could even lay on your back and pull your knees into your chest so that gravity is keeping it inside of you.

Of course, while that can increase your odds of conception, it is by no means necessary. Given your age, I'd say just have some fun for a couple of months and see what happens. If it doesn't happen, then you can start trying to improve your chances.

All the advice you've been given is great and I think rings true, on all notes.

One month sweet is just a starting point.. Your body will need to adjust to not being protected if you are referring to contraceptives, not just condoms.

Feel the love, is all I can add to their opinions. I always think that when we feel love with our partners when having intercourse instead of focusing on just sex, to have a baby, it makes a difference.

Katsaly, it may not be necessary, but you make perfect sense, of it increasing the odds, so that balls back down to Soupuss's comment that being a little fitter and not overweight will help keep those knees into your chest.

    All good.

    That's all I can add.

Thanks to all for ur valued advices ...
Another thing, I am thinking of joining gym or any exercise program to lose weight ... Can my planning and gym go side by side , or first the exercise and then the planning because I fear if I am into exercise, will this affect my chances of conceiving ...
