You have a very smart boyfriend!

Babies cost ALOT of money right from birth. Not only does the hospital bill cost alot, but theres food, clothing, baby stuff (you need a car seat to take the baby home in), diapers, medication (immunizations), check ups, and if anything goes wrong with you or the baby after it's born, there's another chunk of change to pay for medical care.

You need to be prepared for this (financially, mentally). It is a life changing experience, happy, yet frusrating! I am pregnant with my first but let me tell you after seeing my younger cousins having babies before they were prepared, I would never consider doing this.

Babies need more than love and attention to live. and as they get older it costs MORE!

So start preparing by securing a good job, you and your boyfriend. Get married (or don't whichever your beliefs are), have some good insurance set aside, find a home in a good neighborhood, then when you get pregnany, start saving money "just in case" cos you never know.

You're still so young, enjoy your freedom while you can because once you have kids you can't do much and always dumping them on a babysitter is no good....
