    When you are ovulating...

About mid way through your cycle.

Generally ovulation will happen 14-18 days AFTER the first day of your last period. But all this depends on your cycle length.

Read up on ovulation and the signs of ovulating.

Thats what i was thinking, i just wasnt sure exactly when i started ovulating. my period is very strange some times... like last month i had my period from the 17th -23rd. This month i had my period the 13th-18th. So around i guess around the 25th would be a good time to start trying??

Yeah - I'd guess 24th-27th. If you have all your cycles charted, get a average cycle length. That would help.

Also, you can buy one of those ovulation tests, they are by the pregnancy tests. But I think they predict if you will be ovulating within the next 5 days. So you could take one on the 23rd or so.

Also, have him abstain from ejaculating for a few days prior. This will build up his sperm count.

Chances of getting pregnant before or after ovulation are not as good as trying during ovulation. But all in all, it's pretty much a crp shoot. Some get lucky and get pregnant right away, for others it takes time.

I was off the pill and trying for two years. After a couple rounds of fertility assistance, I got pregnant with my first.

With my second, I got off the pill around the 1st of March, as we figured we would try to get pregnant in the fall. Since I had problems getting pregnant with my first, I figured getting off the pill early and starting prenatals would help. Well, what do you know, 3rd week in June, I threw up one morning (which is odd, I only ever vomited when I was pregnant) and I knew I had a UTI coming on. So I went to the Dr and she was writing a prescription for the UTI. I just had this feeling and told her I think I might be pregnant. She tested and yep, I was. Went in for an ultrasound a couple of days later and found out I was about 11-12 weeks. So, we were shocked to say the least since it took forever for the 1st.

    Good luck!

There's a great website called fertilityfriend. It's a charting site. I don't know if you've heard of charting or not, but on the site, you just plug in the info and it will help you predict when you're fertile. Plus, new members can sign up for a "class"...they just email you lessons on fertility, conceiving, etc. Lots of good info on there. Good luck!

Another good site to check out is mymonthlycycles. I use that to chart my period every month, and lets you know a good estimate of when you should be ovulating based on your previous periods.

All women ovulate at different times. Some women stick to the 14 days later but it all depends on the length of your cycle. The best thing would be to monitor your cycle with ovulation monitoring equipment for a month or two to see when you ovulate. Than you should have sex three days before, the day of, and three days after to ensure fertility. Remember it may take a while to get pregnant, especially if you were on BC pills or anything like that for a length of time before trying.
