Default Do OVULATION calenders work or not?

I had unprotected sex twice this week, with my boyfriend. After the first time, I went on to this website, which has an ovulation calender on it which explains when you are most fertile. So it said I was very fertile on the 16th, which was one of the days IU had unprotected sex. The other time I had unprotected sex was the 21st.

Do the Ovulation Calenders work? Is it true, that I would be most fertile on those days? It also said the earliest I would be able to check/home pregnancy test would be the 27th. Would I be able to do it sooner?

Ovulation calendars are a nice tool but not quite accurate. The reason is that women ovulate at different times, and these calendars are assuming you ovulate two weeks after your LMP (last menstrual period). My friend used to use the ovulation tests at home and said that she was off by one week according to the tests versus the calendars online. However, unprotected sex will eventually result in a baby...so unless you are TTC (trying to conceive) than I would suggest a form of BC (birth control).

As for using a HPT you can use one as early as five days before your missed period. Although I would wait till you miss the period, because then your HCG will be stronger.

Okay, thanks. I spotted a little today. It was like a very light pink. like pink/white mixed together but more white than pink. It happened once, then happened again like 3 hours later. No bleeding at all. But when I did wipe there was this discharge like the color I mentioned above.

I am assuming I am just starting my period early. But what could it be? My roommate said it could be because I tore something in my uterus, but I have not had sex in like 2 days, and it just started today. And I never had this happen before this spotting like issue. And I have been with the same guy for like 10-11 months, and nothing changed in our sex life.

Any hints? Or helpful comments would be appreciated.

I know this won't be the kind of answer you're looking for, but if I were you I'd call the clinic and describe the symptoms to either get an idea of what it is or have it checked.

I only say so because I also had some worries about something in that area a couple of weeks ago, only to call them and be told that it was something very common. It lasted 24 hours but I was worried at first since I didn't know what it was, until I called.

There's nothing better than a doctor's opinion once worries begin. If nothing else, just to keep your mind at ease.

OKay, maybe I will. I usually do not start my period until like the 4th-7th of the month. So I do not know what it could be. Is that a sign of pregnancy?

Spotting can be part of implantation. But it is always good advice to have a doc look at things. I would only worry about the spotting if it comes back or gets heavier and doesn't stop. It is possible that you are stressing a bit and could have a period early or late. Like I said early I would wait till you miss your period, test asap after that so that you can have plenty of time to make appropriate decisions and find a doctor to see.

Okay, thanks. I have been thinking about babies/kids so much these past months. I guess it does not help my cousin being pregnant, my sister being pregnant and finding out today my other cousin is pregnant and that they are all due around the same time.

I wish I could have a baby. But when the time is right, I will have one of my own. For now I can just take theirs...lol...
