    Hi all,

I'm reposting part of an earlier thread on this forum because I think it may be more help.

The last week(ish) I've had a sour stomach in the morning, and I couldn't finish my food because of the nauseous feeling that happened as I ate. This usually ended with a trip to the toilet a little later on (not through my mouth). I don't know if this was caused by a bug in my tummy or maybe the possibility of being pregnant.

Last Tuesday I had missed my pill (which I take promptly at 8:30 PM each night), and around six I had sex, with him coming in me. The next morning I took the pill, about 12 hours or so later. Would this save my mistake or will I be at risk for pregnancy?

Also, these stomach issues started around then, so they couldn't possibly be morning sickness a week within the sex, could they?

Please tell me I'm freaking out too much!

It's probably just a bug. Relax!

    Seriously.

Just see what happens with your next period and put it out of your mind until then.

I agree that you should relax and see what happens with your next pregnancy. I would say that missing a pill can cause ovulation and symptoms can show up as early as the first day of conception, however it would depend on how good you have been with taking your pills, how long you have been on the pill, and what your body is like off the pill. If you are normally a 14 day ovulator...off the pill, the chances of you ovulating with a missed pill goes up. It is good that you took the pill as soon as you could, which may have saved you. In the pamphlet insert it says that the longer you go without taking the pill the higher your chances of ovulating. As we can not know when you ovulated we can not tell you anything more than to calm down and wait. I know it is stressful and all you can think about...and if I were you I would think that you were safe, though as I have said there are always a small chance that you ovulated. I don't know that percentage of the small chance but I do know that it is small very small.

Thanks, both of you. I am going to just chill out, I only have a few more days until I'm supposed to get my period so I'll find out soon enough. I'm just a paranoid person!
By the way, I was very irregular off the pill, going months without getting my period, then it being very heavy and clotted. That being said, I never knew when I ovulated or anything.
I also am usually very good at remembering my pill, only forgot a handful of times in almost a year.
    Again, thank you!
