Are you on any birth control or taking any prescription medications? Birth control can cause irregularities in your cycles and hormones. How old are you? You could be experiencing a hormonal change or hormonal imbalance. It could be a normal and natural hormonal change or it could be an unhealthy one. In which case, you should have your hormone levels tested. I know that my cycles have varied throughout my life (although my birth control really messed it up for a while). I am 27 now and when I have my period, my breasts swell and get tender, and I also tend to have acne during that time which I don't normally have.
