My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 6 years now and not once it has happened. I don't understand what's wrong with me. I know it isn't him because he has had a kid before. Is there something wrong with my body? I don't get a period unless I'm on birthcontrol, but I haven't taken birthcontrol since we started trying. Could me not getting my period have something to do with not getting pregnaut?

Not getting your period is absolutely a sign that something might be wrong. Your period is your body's way of saying it is capable of hosting a growing baby. If you aren't getting it without the pill, it's possible that the pill is providing a hormone that your body doesn't have naturally. I would suggest going to a fertility clinic. It's possible there's a simple hormone you're missing that could be replaced with a pill the fertility clinic could provide.

Do you track you BBT? I'd start with that.

Also, have you been in for an exam? A pap? Blood tests to test hormone levels?

My periods were always irregular if I wasn't on the pill. My Dr was fine with that, as long as I'd have a period at least every 3 months. I did need assistance to get pregnant with my first, but with my second it happened on its own.

Did you express to him your desire to get pregnant? If that was me, I'd be quick to find another Dr.

Yes I did. He said it would happen in time. I'm 26 years old. Ovarian cancer and Cervical and Breast Cancer runs in my family. I'm scared that soon it will be to late to have a child. I want one so bad, so does my husband. It's putting a strain on our relationship

Maybe you just having been trying on your fertile days.. Have you tried getting one of those over the counter ovulation trackers? You pee on it every day and it tells you your two most fertile days. Maybe that could work for you.

No, we make love just about everyday, if not twice a day

First I was required to track my BBT, you should start doing this if you haven't already. Get very very familiar with your monthly cycles and temperatures. I was to have sex, when my temps were appropriate. I did this for about 3 months. Still nothing, I was then put on Provera and Clomid. It worked after a few cycles.

Start taking prenatals, start eating a healthy diet and exercising. WC has a good book recommendation somewhere on this forum for this. I'll see if I can find it.

This definitely is not helping. You need to pinpoint when you are ovulating, this is where tracking your BBT will come in handy. Also, you can pick up bulk packs of ovulation test (about 20 for $20), use these as well. The more you have sex, the lower his sperm count. Having sex multiple times a day will not benefit you. When you are nearing ovulation, he needs to abstain from ejaculating for 2-3 days before. No masturbation, no oral, no sex. This will build up his sperm count, then when you are ovulating, have a go at it. It is all about timing.
