Hello, My husband and i want a baby, however i have never been friends with my cycle. My past 3 or 4 periods have been very late and unpredictable. The first day of my last period was the 26th of may, i might have been 1-2 weeks late. On the 26th of June we decided to try and conceive (this was random and not entirely planed). Well i was still expecting that i would get my period eventually, however it did not come. I'm guessing that i am most likely late again, considering that today is the 13th of July. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both clearly read as negative. I didn't realize how disappointed i was until my second test, I'm horrified that i might be infertile like a few women in my family. This would be devastating! I am roughly 50 or so days late.
I have no idea how to calculate my most fertile days? I don't want to sound foolish but all i know to do is to "keep trying". Now i wonder if i did conceive some time within the last few weeks or days, how would i know when to test? everything that i know about testing says wait till your missed period, well we started trying right before my missed period and its negative as of yesterday?
What the most difficult part is, is the waiting and hoping. I feel very odd, sensitive to everything, all the senses. I'm bloating in my LOW abdominal, my breasts which have always been small have changed dramatically! much more full rounded and nipples are sore, the whole breast seems firmer? I've developed a small yeast infection, I've been having head aches that is out of the normal for me, and i realize now that my entire diet has flip flopped. i thought it was work and my long hours with the kids and the water. i didn't think about symptoms due to my "20 minute tinkler" nick name, and extreme need to crash and eat, and i swear hibernate. Could these be symptoms, but how can you have signs of pregnancy but not show a positive test?
Hopefully some thing will be a clear positive, Positive pregnancy or positive period!
Please if some one could reply to me, it will be very helpful, I'm lost in this adventure.
Thank you,
Wanting, wishing, and praying
for my own little angel.
Start tracking your BBT. Once you can get some sort of idea as to your bodies temperatures and cycles, it will be easier to figure out when you are ovulating. I'd also start buying ovulation tests in bulk (a box of 20 for around $20), this will also help with ovulation prediction.
If you tested yesterday, test again in another week. That would be approximately 3 weeks and should yield a fairly accurate result.
The thing that is important is to know when you are ovulating because you don't just want to have sex on a daily basis with the hope of getting pregnant. The more you have sex, the more he ejaculates, the lower his sperm count is. It is best for him to abstain from ejaculating 2-3 days before you ovulate, the have fun for a couple of days.
Early pregnancy symptoms and PMS symptoms are very similar, so it is kind of hard to differentiate the two. After spending about 3 months getting to know your cycles and temperature, it may be a good idea to go to the Dr armed with what you have been doing, to see what he would recommend as a next step. I do suggest, to save yourself the headache, start charting your BBT and the days you have sex. If not, your Dr may ask you to do that for another 3 or so months so that he can look over the data.
Friendship Prayer
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch.
