during the birth of my daughter my perinium tore (the bit between the vagina and anus) and it may have also tore upwards towards uretha, the midwife insisted that i didnt need stitches because it was only minor but only recently I had a look down there and it looks damaged and like it should of been stitched up. 1 year has passed now and I dont know what to do and Im not happy with the way my vagina looks. The midwife said it only tore about 1 cm but it looks like a lot more than that. has anyone else had this problem and has anyone had vaginal reconstructive surgery?

From what I read and researched when pregnant smaller tears often heal better if not stitched.
