I would have to agree with the Doctor working in the medical field and dealing with this issue with other women I would have to say it is the Pregnancy hormones that are still up. I ma very sorry for your loss.
I recently started bleeding during my first trimester,2.5 months along. I spoke to my dr on wednesday and he said it was either a miscarriage or the placenta was not fully attached. But he said it sounded more like a miscarriage because I was having cramps. That same day at work, I did have a miscarriage, as I saw the fetus in the toilet. I told him when I spoke to him, that I took a test the night before and it still came back positive. He said that it takes approxiamtly 1 week for the pregnancy hormones to get out of your system, so he suggested I take another pregnancy test a week from when the bleeding started.
I took a test yesterday night, just before bed and it came back positive. The 2nd line which shows up if your pregnant was faint and it said on the test that the darkness of the line can vary. Could I still be pregnant or is the pregnancy hormone still not out of my system? My boyfriend and I think that I should just take another test next week, to be sure. I will be seeing my doctor in August, which I think I might just wait until then to find out what is wrong or if anything is exactly wrong.
So, basically I just want to know if it is possible that I am still pregnant...or if the hormone is still in my system.

Thank you. How long does it take the pregnancy hormone to get out of someones system? I am 4'8'',73 pounds.
It vary for different women.Normally it takes 2 to 3 weeks.
Sorry to hear you're going through all this. Just remember that it is very common. I know that doesn't make it any easier but just know that.
I've been told that the hormones usually return to normal after a week or two but can stay in your system up to 8 weeks. Take another test in a week or so and if it's still positive, ask to have an ultrasound when you see your doctor to make sure that everything has returned to normal.
