Default Progestrone to induce period and ovulating to help get pregnant

So, I hadn't been having regular periods after going off the pill in Sept 09. My OBGYN ended up putting me on progestrone on July 20 and I took the pills for 10 days. I started my period yesterday Aug 1. I was instructed to begin using an ovulation kit after my period ends to figure out the days I am most fertile. I am a little nervous about this. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby now since October of 09 and we are hoping all this is going to help us. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How long will it take to get pregnant? I am just trying to get all the information I can. Thank you!

It really depends on the person... It took me 2 years to get pregnant with my first and that was including the time spent on Progestrone and Clomid. That took about 4 cycles, I believe. Think positive thoughts and don't think too much about it. You always hear stories that as soon as the couple stops "trying", they get pregnant.

So, don't obsess over it, but do follow your Dr's directions.

Also, don't have sex obsessively, as that just lowers his sperm count. He needs to abstain from ejaculating 2-3 days before ovulation, that way his swimmers are raring to go.
    Friendship Prayer
May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of the person who screws up your day and may their arms be too short to scratch.
    Amen

Whoever said anything was possible obviously never tried slamming a revolving door.

Thank you for your input. I am trying to be optimistic and not stress out. I have been feeling depressed lately. I think I am going to start working out a bit to try and get myself in a better mood. Taking these pills have caused me to not feel normal. I am looking for a way to just feel like me again.
