SO SO confused about dates!

Hi Ladies,

I am pregnant, I found out last week on Tuesday through 3 home pregnancy tests.

Today I went to see another doctor because my gp was unavailable.

My gp thinks I am roughly 5.5 weeks along. I stopped birth control and had a pill period which ended on the 22/august. I then had a blood test on 17th of September that came up negative.

The doctor I saw today thinks I'm only 2-3 weeks along.

How is that even possible? I thought week 2 was ovulation week. Don't forget I found out 1 week ago I was pregnant too.

I am beyond confused.

Can I please have input?

Congrats first of all!!!

Best advice I would give you is to speak to your regular doctor and see if they can do an ultra sound to find out exactly how far along you are. I get confused by all this stuff too, and I'm on my 2nd pregnancy. Good Luck!!!

Hey! Some doctors chart your pregnancy on a 38 week cycle while most use a 40 week cycle. So maybe the first doctor was using the 40 week cycle where you would be 5 weeks, and the second doctor was using the 38 week cycle(day one would be the day you ovulate/conceive) which would make you 2-3 weeks on his cycle, but still 5 weeks on a 40 week cycle. I hope this makes sense to you.

Thanks.. so I had a blood test done and according to my HCG levels I'm 6 weeks along!!! yay!

I definitely have a pot sticking out so if I was 2-3 weeks I'd be worried lol
