If I were you, I would go and get the 3 pack of the actualy First Response tests. Make sure you take the test first thing in the morning, because that is when the hormones will be most concetrated for the test to read. Good luck and keep us updated!
Hey everyone! I'm new to the site but it seems like a great community of very helpful women
I am writing because I have had some issues with pregnancy tests. I've been on birth control for 3 years with no issues, very regular periods, and now my period is 10 days late for the first time (I didn't restart my new pack of birth control because I have been wondering why I didnt get my period). I worry it could be link to cystic ovaries, as I did have a problem with that about 6 years ago, but then again, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't pregnant just in case.
After 1 week of no period, I took a generic target brand test (modeled after first response I think) and it was positive but faint. Then I took a generic equaline test (modeled after ept certainty) with the "easy to read" digital output window. This one said "not pregnant." Three days after that, still no period, so I took another of the same type and it said "see leaflet" which told me it was an error reading. I've now spent about 25 dollars on pregnancy tests that were far from informative, and I am planning to go to my doctor later this week to find out for sure. But in the mean time, does anyone have recommendations about the best most reliable test and how to administer it properly? Since I got the error reading, maybe peeing on a stick is harder than it sounds.
Thanks so much!

~Today, any person can fight the battles of one day It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's- yesterday and tomorrow, that we break down. It is not the experience of today that drives people mad. It is the remorse of bitterness for something which happened yesterday and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Let us therefore, live but one day at a time.~
Agreed. They are expensive, but it's probably a good idea to fork over the $20 for the 3-pack. First response is good as well as ept. First thing in the morning is best as well.
Thanks for the advice. I did that except FMU for me is probably not that concentrated anyway. I have bladder cystitis and I pee about 20 times a day -- meaning i drink a lot more water too -- and I wake up about 3 times every night to pee so it ended up only being from 2 hours of holding it. I'm not sure if that affected it or not, but both tests were negative, so I'm assuming that means I'm not pregnant (which is cool with me). However, I am still a little worried about false negatives, especially since I don't have highly concentrated urine. And, I still haven't gotten my period (almost 2 weeks late) even though I've been on hormonal birth control for years now, my breasts are still sore, and now I've become seriously nauseous. I'm hoping this has just been the longest pms in the history of my life, it's been 3 weeks now that my breasts have been sore and I've felt crampy and hormonal. Any advice?
It could be some crazy PMS symptoms. Sometimes they can mimmic pregnancy symptoms. I say if you still don't get it within a week, take another test.
