I am 38 years old, I recently got married for the second time. I married the man of my dreams :0) , and I really want to have a child with him, I have a 17 year old daughter and my pregnancy with her went very well :0) I was diagnosed with endometreosis about 6 years ago. I would be interested in getting any feed back or oppinions on my decision to try to get pregnant again. I am concerned with my age and how this pregnany could affect my health, whether negative or positive. I have heard that becoming pregnant could help my endometriosis, or could hurt? hope there is someone out there that can sympathis and give me some advice or start a dialoge aboout my concerns.I'm new to this site, please any feed back from other woman would be greatly appreciated :0). Sincerely, ~R~
Hi Royale, welcome to the Forum.
Have you recently spoken to your Doctor, regarding how severe your endometreosis is,and food groups you should and shouldn't eat, to assist with any pain as well as management? I think it's important to be as healthy as you can when attempting to have a baby...
Whilst there is no cure for this, using cystectomy and ablative surgery, pregnancy rates are approximately 40% apparently.
IVF can also be looked into pending, taking into account your age, off course, the severity of the endometriosis, the presence of other infertility factors, and the results and duration of past treatments.
What ever you decide, you have to take into consideration that there is a chance that you won't be able to get pregnant and you will need to be able to mentally handle that, if your Doctor advises that there is a chance, via any methods, discussed.
