No, there's no way to guarantee a boy. Luck of the draw.

You'll find a million and two old wives tales out there, it's up to you if you believe them. Wearing blue socks whenever you have sex, make sure your head is pointing north during sex, etc etc.

Hi! Okay, I had a baby boy, and wanted a baby girl next! And for everybody I know, except 2 people, the chinese calendar is completely accurate. So the way you can calculate it is the age you are when you conceive plus the number of the month you would be due. So with my son, I was 21 when I conceived, and I had him in march. 21 + 3=24. An even result is a boy, and odd is a girl. With this pregnancy, we only tried to conceive on months that would end up with an odd result. So since I was 23, we tried in may, and then again in august because I had turned 24. We ended up getting pregnant in august...and the ultrasound has confirmed we're having a girl! It could be completely coincidence that this works for basically everyone I know, or it could actually work! You can try it anyways if you think it will help! Also, it is proven now that boy sperm swim slow but last long, and girl sperm swim fast but die sooner. So if you have sex a few days before ovulation rather than right on it, you should have a better chance at having a boy! I did these things to increase my chances of having a girl because even if they don't work, at least I tried. And if I ended up with another boy, I of course would have been thrilled with that too!

That is a complete myth. The sex of the baby is determined by the man's sperm. All women's eggs contain an X chromosome. A man's sperm carries either an X or Y chromosome. If a sperm with an X chromosome fertilized the egg, it will be a girl (XX). If the sperm carries the Y chromosome, it will be a boy (XY). There is absolutely nothing the woman can do to ensure a boy or a girl, it's a 50/50 chance no matter what you do. Those that claim these methods work, well they have a 50% chance that it will... which is pretty high, so if it does work of course it will reinforce these superstitious methods. It's like saying flipping a coin at a certain time of year will make it more likely to land on heads, which simply isn't true. It's always a 50/50 chance no matter when you flip it.

Absolutely no way to guarantee the sex of your child. Just be grateful you can have children and enjoy them for who they are.
