Period starts later and later each month

For a few months now my period has started later and later every month. It used to start on the 11th, then it moved to around the 20 and then the 26th in December and then I didn't have one at all in January. I haven't started yet eithe (and it's the 1st of February) ...I've had periods start about 38 days apart before but I'm worried something is wrong with me. I'm 26, and I'm still a virgin. I've messed around with my boyfriend, but we've never had sex and I'm always really careful when we are messing around because I'm paranoid about getting pregnant. What could be wrong?

I had a similar pattern up until a couple of years after I got my first period... But they became regular afterwards.
