Well, I just found out yesterday I am pregnant. I think I might be 1 month along but not quite sure. I am on the edge right now as last pregancy I had a miscarriage. But from what I read the 2nd pregnancy usually carrys to term.

What I am wondering is...what drinks are good for a pregnant person to drink? I know coffee is out which is hard for me. I am drinking tea and hot chocolate, milk, water and hot chocolate and apple juice...Also wondering, what should I be eating? I am taking prenatal vitamins already started those today.

Also, if anybody knows of any good and helpful websites I would appreciate it if you would let me know. I want this baby to be healthy and nothing wrong with it.

Also let me know what you think of this name for a girl : Lea Sophia Kelner...no boy name as of yet...

    First of all Congrats!!

I just had my daughter almost a month ago and have a two year old son. Eating good healthy foods is the best thing you can do for baby. Lots of fruits and veggies. I drank tons of water with lemon in it and juice but don't over do the juice since it can raise your blood sugar and cause problems. I also drank lots of milk and I did drink decaf ice tea which helped with my coffee craving. Basically you want to eat/drink everything healthy that is healthy. They also say eat things that children maybe allergic too like peanut butter.

Maybe go to your local book store and look at books on pregnancy which alot of them include menu's on good food/meals.

    Best of Luck!!

Okay thanks. I am so excited for this. I am still getting used to the idea I am pregnant as I think it might end in another miscarriage. But as far as I know to a website(due date calculator) I am 6 weeks along and am due October 13th. Will keep everyone posted

    First of all... CONGRATULATIONS....
I know what you are going through, my first pregnancy I had a miscarriage and I was fearful of trying again. I waited 6 years and it was the most planned pregnancy in the world. My second pregnancy went very smooth and I had a beautiful healthy baby boy. How long ago was your miscarriage? How far along were you when you miscarried? I was never told the reason for my miscarriage, I guess it was just one of those things?
As far as things to eat and drink...
Milk (you need the calcium and vitamin D) fruit juices, V8, anything healthy. You want to stay away from too much caffeine. Since you are hooked on coffee, quitting cold turkey will make you irritable, tired, and may give you headaches so I would decrease slowly, or switch to decaffineted (try mixing 1/2 reg and 1/2 decaf and each day increase the amount of decaf and reduce the amount of regular etc...)
Often times they say that your body craves what it needs, and I tend to believe that. When I was pregnant I craved cheese, veggies, fruit. I am not a big milk drinker and I think craving cheese was my body's way of getting dairy.
There are a LOT of great sites out there for pregnancy, just google it. There are even sites that let you make a scrapbook of your pregnancy. If you have trouble finding them send me a private message and I'll find the site for you.
Congratulations once again and good luck.

Congratulations. You have plenty of time to come up with a boy name. Are you going to have them tell you if it is a boy or girl?

Thanks, for the sites JadedQueen. Yeah I tried quitting caffeine cold turkey nto working to well. I am down to half a cup but it varies time to time.

I am going to wait and see what I have. Be surprised but my mind might change.

So far I haven't been craving anything. I have started to eat more vegetables and fruits though. I also have started eating more yogourt as well. I am trying to eat healthy but sometimes it is really hard. I am off and on about wanting to know if I am having a boy or a girl before I actually give birth. Sometimes I want to know so I can be prepared or just be surprised. I am slowly getting excited about it. According to a website I am 7 weeks along and I couldn't be happier, I just want to get past the 3 month time line so I know I am out of the danger of having a miscarriage...
