I really need answers because frankly, I have NOT recieved any! I went to the doctors on Friday the 1st to have my anual pap & discuss WHY I have not recieved my period yet. Here it goes- My last period was April 16th, 2007. It was 7 days long- normal for me. My boyfriend amd I had protected sex/condom from start to finnish with no leakage. I was due to get my period on May 24th- nothing~~! I am now a week and 6 days late. I have been experiencing horrible stomach pains and was taken to the hospital on 6.3.07 and they did a pelvic, ran blood tests- etc. Well, the blood test and urine all came back negitive. I have done 8 pregnancy tests on my own before the doctor's and hospital visit, all came back negitive also. My doctor perscribed something called MEDROXYPROGESTERONE to produce my period. I just started taking it today, 6.4.07. I have an appointment for a ultra sound of my pelvic region and abdominal area also. Help? Could I be pregnant and it is not showing on the doctors Urine and blood tests? My breasts do get sore when I am about to get my period, nothing! Please help me with an answer, I am so very confused by my body at this point!

Anything would help at this point!

    Thanks!

    Default PCOS-Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

I am also late with my period. I had my tubes tide after my daughter was born 9 years ago. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and both were negative. I also had this same problem last April (2006), and my doctor gave me provera pills to get my period. At the time he did a pelvic exam and internal ultrasound with no diagnosis other than I did not ovulate and I had a cyst on my ovary. I have been searching the internet and came across PCOS. I have attached the description:
    Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
DEFINITION: a condition characterized in many patients by "polycystic" ovaries(multiple tiny ovarian cysts), lack of normal ovulation (anovulation) and elevated amount of male hormones(androgens) manifesting in hirsutism(excessive hair growth), often associated with obesity and insulin resistance(affecting about 50% of women with PCOS). High insulin level(insulin resistance) triggers excess male hormone production by the ovaries, interfering with normal egg production and preventing pregnancy.

Let me know if you have any of these symtoms. I have an appointment with my gyno in a few weeks. I'll let you know if this is what I have.

    Good luck!
