Okay so... Im going to start at the beginning. My fiance and I used the pull out method for about a year, with no pregnancy. Then we began trying to conceive and we 'successful' the first cycle we attempted. The pregnancy did not progress as normal, and ended as a missed miscarriage and I had to have a D&C. As the doctor advised, we waited until I had 3 regular cyles before attempting another pregnancy. We have now been trying for about 8 months to conceive. With no luck... I've been worried that maybe because the HCG levels for my first pregnancy were pretty low, and the pregnancy didn't progress, that maybe that is the problem... And maybe I need some sort of medication to help with conceiving. But I currently do not have insurance coverage for a specialist or anything.... so...?? Any advice? could this be the problem or am I over reacting?

    How old are you?
Do either of you have any health issues?
In about 40% of couples the fertility problems are not with the woman but with the man. If he has insurance, he should get checked. This could be related to his ED depending on what is causing it.

I am 21. He is almost 30. He does suffer from ED but the doctor said as long as he is not having any issues with ejaculating then the chances of him having fertility issues are greatly reduced. And his insurance doesn't cover extensive tests. So Are there any vitamins for either me or him that anyone can suggest to help out?

Samantha. I hope everything works out for you! My Bf and i used the p/o method for 3 years and nothing. I had to have a surgery (in that area) in 09 and we've been trying for 8 months as well.. and I believe i got a + test this month! The hardest thing to do is to not think about it and relax.... Its funny because I had just said to my boyfriend I'll be ok if its just the two of us.. and an hour later he came out of my bathroom and told me i was pregnant. that the test i didn't check accurately was in the trash with a + result.. so now.. we will play the waiting game a little longer! God bless!

The fact that you have been able to get pregnant is good news in itself. But I'm so sorry you had to go through the pain of a miscarriage and it's now taking awhile to get pregnant.

Keep in mind that even with two perfectly healthy fertile partners it can still take up to a year to get pregnant. From my experience a doctor usually will not look into an issue before you've been actively trying for that year. If you want to seek more aggressive help eventually, with no insurance, you could maybe save up in anticipation of having testing done and pay out of pocket. If you happen to get pregnant before that time... hey all the better you'll have savings for all the cute clothes.. or even a celebratory pamper mommy day. :-) ... It does take time sometimes... as many women that get talk about being so fertile and getting pregnant first time every time, or maybe you've heard the "if he so much as even looks at me, I'm pregnant"... there's more women that take longer to conceive. I wouldn't count yourself out.

Have loads of fun trying though. Wish you all the best luck this works itself out very soon for you.

OH also to add. Are you doing any cycle charting or using fertile symptoms to time sex? That can be a huge help in itself, if you aren't already doing it. It's also helpful to a bring to a doc to be able to show them what your cycles have been doing. Can point itself to whether there is maybe a hormonal issue going on.
