Has the Negative test ever turned into a positive?

I took a test on Sunday morning. (I've been trying to conceive for months) After I waited a couple mins... and saw no second line.. and got upset.. threw it in the trash and went about my day. My boyfriend came out of the bathroom later that night and told me I was pregnant. He looked at the test.. and clear as day ... there where 2 lines.. not 1. I asked him if he had ever checked any of the other ones i had taken before.. and he said he checked most of them.. and there were never 2 lines. it was always 1.

Is there a good chance I'm pregnant? or is it just because the test was from the am?

I was due either the 7th or 15th. (my cycle is either 3 or 5 weeks. it does what it wants) so at this point im a week and 4 days late. or 4 days late.

If you read the results after the allotted 3-5 it indicates in the directions, the test will not be accurate. It states on the insert that reading the results after the stated time frame will be incorrect.

If the two lines didn't appear within minutes, don't get your hopes up.

Sometimes a bad batch of tests are made so they end up producing whats called an evaporation line after a while. So unfortunately it was probably a test from a bad batch. If your still late I might test again in a week or so to get a more accurate reading and disregard anything after 10min of taking the test.

I would say another test, and first morning urine really can make a difference. I've had second lines come up a few times outside of the designated timeframe to read the results in when we were trying for our son. Given that you are at least four days late, generally speaking, the line should come up pretty quickly and be unmistakable within the timeframe the box says.

I really hope all the best for you and this turns out to be a slow start to a healthy pregnancy. :-)

Well when I took a test this pregnancy, I was still a week away from getting my period. I took it, waited about 2 minutes, and it was negative. I brought it into the kitchen to put it in the box and into the garbage and my mom looked at it first and it was positive! This would have been about 4-5 min after taking it! The line was very faint. So in the next days, I kept taking them, and they showed up quicker and a little darker each time! So I would definitely take another to confirm. It just depends when that line appeared...was it just after you threw it away, or was it hours later? You definitely need to test again! Good luck! (I'm now 38 weeks pregnant!)
