I haven't been on womens-health in a long time, but I had to come back and tell all my ladies the good news! My boyfriend and I are expecting our first child together! My first doctors appointment is tomorrow. I'm assuming based on my last menstrual period that I am probably 5 weeks along.

Any mommy's out there have any good advice to give me for my pregnancy, or just being a mommy?
Sometimes I lay under the moon, and thank God I'm breathin'. And I pray, "Don't take me soon, 'cause I am here for reason..."

Great news! Good luck, may fortune smile on you.
I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience.

Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

    Congratulations!
One bit of advice I can give you is make sure you eat something as soon as you get up in the morning because otherwise you will probably throw up when in the morning sickness phase. Also don't freak out if the morning sickness doesn't go away, I'm almost 30 weeks and I still get morning sickness.
Once you feel the baby starting to move keep a little record in your head of how many times the baby moves in a day, if it gets less than that you should go check it out. Mostly it's nothing to worry about but worth checking on.
When you're almost at your due date you will feel like and just want the baby out of you, you could feel overwhelmed, depressed and question your ability to love your baby. That's all normal so don't freak out if it happens to you.
Oh and the BEST bit of advice I can give you is milk being pregnant for everything it's worth. Get your boyfriend to bring you food, massage your back and do the housework. I don't think there will be a better time to get people to do what you want LOL.
