    Help!
First off I just want to state I am on birth control and I have not missed a day and every month I get it the same time. This week I am suppose to be on my period but I haven't gotten it yet. I did have some cramps, tender boobs which I usually get when I'm about to start and still nothing. I did have very faint brownish/red when I went to the bathroom but it only shows up when I clean myself. I am not stressed over anything and nothing dramatic has happened in my life to cause any stress. I took a pregnancy test today and it came up negative. I'm confused and a little scared, could anyone please give me any advice?!

The brown/red just signifies that your body is getting ready to have your period. It is normal.

A period does not need to happen on the first day of the placebo pills. It can happen at any point in the placebo week, all periods are different in some way. Brown/red is old blood, it can come before and after a woman's period. It happens to all women at some point.

Birth control is not 100% effective and it may be too soon for a positive result. Don't stress about it too much as that will delay your period even more (although I know it's hard not to worry about these things). Of course the chances of you being pregnant are really slim, like 1 in 1000. The only thing you can really do is wait a bit longer or go to the doctors and get a blood test. They can tell a bit sooner than a home pregnancy test.
Good luck! I'm sure everything will be fine.

It is very hard not to stress about this! It has been over a week since I've missed my period and I tried another pregnancy test this morning and it came up negative again. I don't know what would have made me miss my period. Any ideas? I know I could just go to the doctor and get checked out but I do not have insurance . Thank you everyone for your help!

How long have you been on the birth control? It's possible for period to change over time while on the pill.

Honestly it could be for a number of reasons, but pregnancy? Nah. The chances of you missing your period because you... ate something funny for dinner three weeks ago is higher, in my opinion!

I know when you don't want to be pregnant, the thought of it can make you very nervous. But just look at the facts. If you've taken your pill on time every day then the chances of you being pregnant are extremely low.

If you don't have insurance go to a Women's Clinic for a pregnancy test. They'll either do urine or blood. This will not be too costly, my dear. Certainly worth it, especially if you don't trust the home tests.

I have been on birth control for about 4 years now, so it's not like I just started. I'll have to look into a women's clinic here in town, even if I'm not pregnant I want to know why I missed my period. Thank you for your help Mes T!!!
